For everyone who just let themselves be known and were there for me during this hard time. My heart still hurts, and its going to hurt for a long time still. But its nice to know I have so many folks who care around me. So again... Thank you.

Just last year, I lost my four-legged brother of 15 years myself. Tramp. I got used to it, but still even now it feels kinda odd, like something is missing. Every once in a blue moon, I still expect a third figure to follow his offspring in the house when I let them in from outside.
I remember the first day after he passed, I was going to just try to think happy and celebrate his life and be strong. But it was like an emotional coastal wave. I thought of his big happy "gremlin ears" as we call them, and his tail wagging, and the tears just came crashing out.
Pain is relevent, each exeriences it at differant frequencies and all that, so I'm not sure if I feel your pain- but I at least have a damn good idea.
I'm terribly sorry for your loss...
Yeah, its neat how dogs can have their own little personalities. Tramp was real friendly like that, and always missed someone when they were gone, sometimes making the cutest little whines. He was energetic to the end too, even though he slowed down on that last year, he would still lope around with the others, even if he couldn't chase them like he used to. Just the year before that he was still an energetic pup, even teaming up with Brutus, his son in flanking his daughter, Bandit- she's basically bipolar- a total sweetheart but a playful terror outside and beats up her brother. x3
Not to say they replaced Tramp, I'm just saying that's what is like...

Hmm, I'm kinda hesitant to elaborate with some simple advice. I've understandably gotten some looks of being condescended before when asking ill folk if they were eating healthy and keeping hydrated. x3
But if you aren't already, be sure to eat healthy and keep busy, like maybe find a different kind of, well, different, to counter the other.
