50,000 Word Writing Challenge COMPLETE!
25 days into November and I can call the writing challenge a success! In order to write 50,000 words in 30 days, you have to write at least 1,667 words per day. So that was the minimum I set. And I didn't skip a single day throughout all of November! Some days I exceeded, to the point where I finished five days early.
You can view the results of my tracker here. I whipped up a spreadsheet to track my progress and categorize what I was writing in.
I'll start with the bad and end with the good. The bad is that I was hoping this would get me to contribute to some of the larger writing projects I have going (the "PMD" and "AAA" columns). Sadly, that did not occur. The good, however, is that I did write a lot (not all of which can be posted, due some commissions being private, or not being suited for this site -- if you search for Lutro elsewhere you may find them as I start posting things). It also showed that I can indeed write as much as I thought I could. Admittedly a lot of the works were one-shot short stories. So next year when I do this, I'm going to limit myself to only contributing to the word total in longer stories or commissions.
Was a good time!
