>> Treat people like you would treat a wild horse.
You can care for it, bond with it, love it, even help with it's breeding.
But don't be surprised if it kicks you in the face if it doesn't trust you or give consent.

Sometimes it is the best to even let others do what they want without treat them at all.
The Art of life is... to stay relaxed neutral in every situation and see everything from both sides.
don't beat innocent animals. don't beat innocent humans. Love your friends, love your pets. DON'T BE AN ASSHOLE.
That being said, I DO understand your statement.
I don't keep horses, I don't ride horses. But I'll pet dogs and treat a dog that isn't mine with respect.

"well son, you know, you have to put your penis in there LIIIIIIKKKEE this you know...."
She figures they are happier this way, protected and get proper care and grooming. Beats being chased by motorcycles, 4X4s and winding up as taco meat.
I'd rather die than be treated like I was growing up... but I want nothing more than to treat others with love, compassion and kindness...
Said kitten: Lucas (I'm the one talking to him)
I once stopped traffic by getting out of my car, (parked it in the traffic line to turn left a half mile ahead). In a suit I walked across the street to where a white man was calling a Black woman a bunch of cruel names. Everyone was honking their horns and yelling at me to get back in my car and no hold-up traffic, i waved them off and told the white guy, "Apologize!" He said, "What I won't apologize who the F*** are you?!" I said, "Apologize or I will wipe up the sidewalk with your face!" ...I am 6'4 and was in a padded shoulder suit making me look pretty gigantic, He said half-heartedly "I'm sorry..." with a sneer. I said "NO! You Apologize right!" He stopped shook up at my meanancing command, He said: " I'm sorry, I should not have said those things, I apologize...!" I said thank you, I turned and went back to my car, those people who watched and heard me were applauding and yelling approval. I did not know either one of those people and never saw either one again.
I have kicked homophobes off the company property for harassing gay people simply because they are gay and corrected friends not to use mean racist words around me. I have developed fearlessness in the face of mean racist people, I don't use it on others I enforce my viewpoint upon other people as well.
I was robbed at gunpoint, the robber was not fast enough to keep me from wrapping my hand around his pistol. he broke something inside the revolver, the sear spring or the advancing lever inside it. I let go after he tried to shoot me with it three times but it could not work in my grip. After it was broken this Hispanic man hit me with all these mean words and racism, I did two things, one I did not respond in kind, and two I did not do what he wanted. His gun was broken so he had no power over me. He was stronger so he grabbed the register drawer off the register top and walked away. I glared at the camera when I was not hearing any sirens, He was gone by the time I got out the door. I looked at the cameras because I was told the owner was watching me at all times so I had to keep working. This turned out to be a lie. About a year later the leader of the
North Park Gang 0f 5500 members came in to meet me. I showed his robber who worked for him more honor than he showed me, He asked what I wanted, I asked him to help my coworkers from my new boss that was firing and harassing my Hispanic co-workers, normally I take it upon myself to fight for them against unwarranted meanness by the management or customers that are inherently racist.
Things changed where I worked my new boss was absent for a month after that and stopped being an ass to my co-workers, I was not a boss in that company just another cashier! I defend people I don't know when I see them being attacked. Doing that exercise years ago made me be more involved. I help people without a thought of reward, or expectation that I might get one.
I helped a girl by stopping her foot bleeding out from a really bad deep cut. I helped a man that was beginning to have a heart seizure at ComicCon when I saw was extremely pale. I found the fire department paramedics when they were not at their station, then told them what to do when they said they could not help the man with the equipment they had with them, I told them what to do even though I had no authority to do so. I help people in obvious trouble on the side of the road, I help people that don't ask for it when I recognize they need help. they go away and I never see them again. I help people by giving advice instead of money so they can feed their addictions.
I offer people wisdom because I can read thoughts of some people after doing these psychic exercises.
It is not just the reaction to bad upbringing; it is you. I became less shy but was not adopted, even so, I had a bad childhood, maybe not as bad as yours but one that was traumatic.
Don't rely on people for your happiness. People can, often will, hurt you. Rely on yourself.
are you recommending we ride humans? You don't see horses fucking dogs.
Also riding humans sounds great! Let's subjugate them all >:O
Which brings me to another point, I agree with the ancient Pre-Hindu Vedas that Man is not related to apes. Yes, we might have almost enough genes to be a chimpanzee but we also have almost enough to be a Whale or a horse too. I think Darwin is wrong, we are not descendant from apes, it is the other way around The Vedas specifically state there were ape-men alongside Humans in the ancient past, about two ice ages past. I believe the 'other' versions of ape-men like Australopithecus africanus and Cro-Magnon etc, were simply genic mutations to create an inferior slave race. Dr. Loius leaky declined to show that there were homo sapiens- sapiens, (Modern Humans) footprints in the same layer of volcanic ash strata where he discovered Australopithecus Africanus by his wife. But THAT went against the approved Archeological theory of the Darwinist evolution accepted theory, so they explained that the Autralanpithicus rolled its toes out completely flat and molded a big toe print, (instead of a thumb on the inside of the foot) in the ash! I say Bullshyte to that half-baked explanation based on supposition as to how Human footprints are in the same rock strata!
I say this because of all the animals only humans have vocal cords! No other animal has anything even in vestigial form like vocal cords in their throat!
I MEAN I AM A FURRY THO SO MAYBE I'M A LITTLE BIASED
If you can manage that, most of the time you'll be all right. Nothing's perfect on this crazy little Earth, though, so you'll have a couple dark patches, but remember that everybody else has to slog through that once in a while, and if you can do that and follow the rest, then -- like I said -- you'll be okay for the most part.

*Yes, Ella Fitzgerald had a hit song with a similar name, a duet with Bill Kenny and The Ink Spots. It was actually written by Allan Roberts and Doris Fisher, and they got the phrase from Longfellow, whose poem was written about a hundred years prior.
