GlassWing Dragon Species -OPEN-
Hey decided to make GlassWings an actual sub-species of dragon. I have them as an open species, but if you make one please credit me back for them.
GlassWings are a species of dragon native to a long chain of islands similar to the Madagascar islands in our world. They thrive off the hot and humid weather, and due to their location their native diet consists of mostly small mammals, fish and nuts and fruits found along the islands. They are normally small in stature, having thin long limbs with tails that are 1.5 to 2 times the length of the rest of their bodies but muscular in their own right. Their tails are prehensile and are often used for balance in the trees, self defense in fights, and to hold objects or hatchlings. On rare occurrence larger GlassWings do occur that are quite muscular and large compared to the rest of their kind. Color wise GlassWings have little to no markings along their body but can be born any color, however their wings can have various amounts of transparency levels and designs and are often comparable to butterflies, moths and dragonflies.
-QUICK NOTES-
-long tails
-4 claws/toes on back feet and 5 claws/toes on front (1 acts like thumb) in feral form
-have paw pads to help with climbing in the trees
-long tongues for picking fruits and nuts
-insect inspired transparent wings
-NO BLADES OR WEAPONIZED TAILS
-CAN HAVE back/spinal spikes that stop towards the end of tail
-Larger dragons of the species are typically earth inclined
-can have the following elements: fire UC, water C, wind/air C earth UC
-ADOPT ONLY ELEMENTS UPON MY STATING: Hybrids and Toxins
-ADOPT ONLY PHYSICAL TRAIT: twin tails
-BREEDING INFORMATION-
While it is custom for their kind to mate for life, it is not uncommon for GlassWings to have different partners before finding the one who they will stay with. And while GlassWings can live in almost any climate (struggle in the cold) they can only breed/raise their young on their native island homes. Females of the species have to return to the islands before laying their eggs or the hatchlings inside will not make it. When born and throughout their lives GlassWings have a natural homing sense, like that of migratory birds and sea turtles and can always find their way back home.
If you make one let me know! I'd love to see what others make.
