Oh man, wild cats are SUCH a hassle. It breaks your heart not to be able to really DO anything. I've been there. I know exactly how you feel. ;~;

Agreed what sucks is that all this started with pet kittens that grew up and their litters where picked thru so the ones that weren't pretty enough to be taken in grew up wild, I've tamed feral and you just cant get them down to house cat darlings even thou if you raised the kits that's what they would have been. I tried calling shelters the past few hours 7 shelters, full. grr. :(

Yeah. Where I'm at, wild cats are a real problem. The 2 cats I have now, we rescued from the side of the road. They were literally SWARMING with fleas, and had worms real bad. A year later, they're both completely loving cats. But that's just 2 cats. You can't save them all. It's heart-wrenching. All the shelters are full, and any cats picked up by the humane societ at this point have a death penalty almost immediately. It's a sad state of affairs.

But you'll go broke real quick if you try to be a kitty hero. ;~;

Yeah, that does suck. x_x Could you try putting a cardboard box out somewhere that's a little elevated and lure her with food?

yeah we cut up a box for her with some paper in it but shes desided to fight, good and bad, good that shes fighting for them bad that she wont let us near and wont budge for food or anything

That really sucks. My guy has called me at work sometimes saying "baby, I found a cat on my route, can i bring it home?" And I'm like "nooo. wild cats, noooo". He's never heard of feline leukemia. =P

haha yeah thats my fear to. My heart wants to bring them inside and litter train them and find them homes but that wont help the momma who will just have another litter and i cant risk nummy catching something so ARG :/

If it comes down to it and they have to be moved your best bet would be to use a blanket or towel to cover mamma. It’s going to piss her off but it will save your limbs and make the stress on her at least a little less. If you have a garage or shed I would suggest pushing her in that direction, at least then you would know the kittens where safe and such

Well she's been in are garage before and left lovely kitty tracks on my dads show car lol he loves cats but he's got his limits. we do have a car cover tent in the back that is high ground and where she'd be safe from the road and such but yeah she's hunkered down and its not raining just yet so were gonna wait and hope she moves the litter on her own. She just managed the second worst place to put them (we have a known kitten killing dog on the other side of the road ><) might need to towel catch her like you said thou :(

Ow, not good... The only other thing I can suggest is maybe, if you have a small kennel, catching her and putting her in there, at least for the duration of the bad weather. After that you could maybe take her to a cat rescue or the human society, somewhere the wont put her down and try to reintroduce her to humans. That way, her and the kittens would be safe and hopefully find a home.

Intervene.. if u dont they probably will drown, and if the weather is bad and the box is in a bad place they would probably die due to the elements... My best bet would be take the kittens to the local shelter or something and if you can manage to get mom w/o getting scratched to death take her too... They'll deal w/ the kittens and probably give them a better chance... Momma kitty on the other hand.. needs to be delt w/ as in spayed lol. I hope u know about cats and if u do get bit go to the hospital if the bite area becomes numb or red... you may get a disease.. cat mouths are FILTHY and full of bad germs...

Well it hasnt rained yet but living on the gulf coast of FL is always rainy, we got the kits in a box with newspaper bedding in the back yard under a tent car top, its on like a mini hill so it wont even get wet where it is, the mom is in there with them so there warm I'm sure, if she doesn't move the litter and if we can catch her tomorrow we're gonna try to get them all in a kennel and take them to a little shelter down the road that also spays strays thou they wont take her they said they could spay her so I dunno :( All the shelters near here are packed with cats they wont take them

I work at a vet clinic and I can't tell you how many orphaned kittens come through. I'm fostering one right now, in fact. People don't think things through. All they can think of is, "Awe, I want more kitties!" without any regard to their health, safety, or quality of life. Cats DIE giving birth, and it is much more humane to give a cat a life that isn't focused on breeding to death than to just let them go because then you have issues like kittens drowning D:

I hope animal control could maybe help? Or a nearby neighbor. SOMEONE who can take them in, feed them, and either adopt them out or get all their vaccinations and surgical procedures done themselves. I know around here there is a van called TEAM which does spays and neuters. It's not the safest method because they sedate them without checking health status, using IV catheters, or measuring their exact dose of anesthesia, BUT...they serve a very real purpose. Without them, thousands of cats would not be spayed and neutered due to cost, so it's worth it.
