The Holidays 2018-2019

General
Twelfth Night, the traditional end of the Christmas season, is tomorrow. Therefore, I consider this information timely, if only just.
In the past few years, some Protestant... um, let's say "groups." ...have spoken and in some ways acted to "win Christmas back for Christ," by protesting and trying to suppress all references to "The Holidays." Their objections come from a level of ignorance which they could easily correct with a little Google-whacking, would they but look beyond the ends of their noses. Here, then, is my list for this year.

Anyway, she told me that Jesus was actually a Pharisee. What he was preaching, and what Christianity is based on, is Pharisaism. (And he wasn't even very good at it, she said.) Remember the Sermon on the Mount? He didn't criticize Pharisaism, he chastised the Pharisees for not practising what they preached!
Meanwhile, Judaea abandoned Pharisaism as a religious philosophy more than a thousand years ago. Why? Because nobody could live that way! (so my friend said) The Pharisees themselves couldn't. Christians still don't today.

Then again, where do you draw the line? If somebody says something that's really wrong, (like racism or sexism or threats of violence), should everybody still mind their own business?

I hope you had a great day anyway.
...BTW, who is Gerard Depardieu?
No turkeys wlll be cooked (it has a cooking area that's along the lines of a medium-sized microwave's) but the cupcake baking was more than successful, and if we decide we'd like to make some cheese biscuits (like Bisquick) or even a small layer cake, he knows how and will be showing me how as well. :)
As for Gerard Depardieu, I think CyberCorn_Entropic beat me to it with Gerard's Wiki page. The other reason it was important to me (that we share our birthday), is that Deuce found a moderately-obscure science-fiction movie on BluRay for my birthday (he stopped over here when he was home for Christmas with his family, on the 23rd) called 'Babylon A.D.' (based on the French Cyberpunk novel called 'Babylon Babies'), starring Mr. Depardieu, Michelle Yeoh (Resident Evil, and I believe she also stars in Star Trek: Discovery, amongst her roles), and Vin Diesel (Pitch Black, The Chronicles Of Riddick), who made a thoroughly excellent Toorop. This is both true to the Cyberpunk theme, and nowhere near your traditional action movie. :)
So movies were viddied. Birthday went all proper, and thank you for the tidings thus, my excellent D'otta chummer! <hug!s>
