Credit Rolls
I was in the middle of finishing some things up before I go on a trip and I just needed to get this topic off my chest and see if anyone else does the same thing.
Whenever something big happens or I do something important or special those moments always seem to have a song that latches on to them. I've come to calling these songs "Credit Rolls" as they are like the songs at the end of a movie that wrap it up.
Every time this happens to me something about the end of something bigger than the average days just makes me think of the end of a movie and a song just links to it.
Ill try to give an example. I went to see my Dad, hadn't seen him in many years. That trips song for me is called Sit Next to Me by Foster the People. When I was flying back or had a moment to think to myself I just kept hearing the lyrics in my head "Its over, Its over..." Or "Just say the word and ill part the sea." These lyrics applying heavily as It was 5+ years and I had been Waiting to see him. Would he like the man I had become? And he lives on the other side of the country to me. I didnt do this trip alone and we got to meet his new girlfriend. It was a Great trip. But now whenever I hear that song I remember that trip and the good times.
I have these songs for my other trips too. Even think I already know the one for my future trip coming this week. The entire song and its lyrics could totally not fit with what I did. It could be a love song attached to like a day with friends in a nearby town. It just Happens. And every time like I dont always envision myself singing it to someone else sometimes my head applies the words from them to me. Its kinda hard to explain.
Does this happen to anyone else? Its definitely not a bad thing and ive always felt a connection to music ever sense my choir days.

Whenever a song has that sort of melancholy or some sense of bittersweet in addition to having some more treble-based lyrics I get those same feelings. Here are some of my songs that could be considered my own Credit Rolls:
Overture - AJR
Watermelon - Tom Rosenthal
Holocene - Bon Iver
Highway (Under Construction) - Gorillaz
My Leather, My Fur, My Nails - Stepdad
Those are just to name a few, the first one especially. There's another one that has the lyrics "last days of summer" but I'm not allowed to listen to the playlist it is in because it's not summer, hehe.
A few for me are:
Sunflower from Spiderverse
For the first time - The script
Sunday Morning - Maroon 5
Theres more I just cant remember it this very second, go figure.
