Dark Content WARNING!
[*Note: This was originally text meant for my tumblr blog, if something doesn't quite translate to FA or other pages, that's why.]
If you get easily squicked or even triggered by dark themes in fiction, please don’t follow my NSFW sites/galleries/blogs!
At any point I might post/share art or text that contains stuff like:
-NSFW: erotic and explicit. [All characters drawn in a sexual way are 18+, regardless of their age in the original source, as I'll age them up and draw them as such.]
-Dark stuff like dubcon, noncon, violence, soft gore, blood, humiliation, power imbalance, unhealthy relationships, water sports, monster/humanoid and other themes and kinks that may not appeal to everyone/most, I’ll try to tag to the best of my ability, but if you don’t wanna see any of it at all, please stay safe and don’t follow me. [or block me if you're able, I won't mind. Your well being comes first.]
For more detail on some of the kinks I might draw, here's my F-List, it's a list of Kinks so of course, 18+ ONLY: https://www.f-list.net/c/barelynsfw/
————–
Also! NEVER feel like you have to keep following me, I don’t check the amount of followers I have unless it’s because I got a funny number, I don't keep tabs on who's following me and I don’t care either. [Though I really don’t want people under 18 following my NSFW sites! Please respect this.]
Be happy, keep your dash/feed filled with the kinda content YOU want to see.
————–
Sidenote: People who come to request I share callout posts will get blocked. Most times it's just virtue signaling over fictional kinks/Ships, and/or an excuse to bully people without consequences.
I'm sick and tired of this whole purity culture bullshit going on.
[Note: if you're gonna share a callout post, you better have proof that the person is legitimately terrible towards real, living, breathing people/animals. Or is spreading dangerous hateful ideas. Those are the only cases I would like to be told about. Not fucking lines on paper being icky, I don't care.]
Dubcon -> Dubious Consent -> [Still rape IRL, in fiction it serves to separate situations in which a character is not sure themselves whether they want to participate or not, better explained HERE. ] This is a term that can ONLY be applied to fiction. In real world situations there's either consent or there isn't. And if there’s anything sexual going on without consent, that’s called Rape or sexual abuse/assault.
Now, while I do like to draw or read some dark subjects in fiction, that’s because I can easily separate their depiction in fiction from reality.
I don’t condone, support or think abuse, sexual harassment, rape, pedophilia, violence, or anything of the sort is ok or should be allowed to happen IRL to real people regardless of age, gender etc.
Why do I think it’s ok for people to create dark fictional content?
In short: Because among the people creating it, there’s survivors, and I don’t think it’s ok to further harass or out them/demand they tell some random stranger[s] on the internet about their trauma so they can be judged by these strangers, to see if they are “enough of a survivor” to indulge in this type of content.
I also think people who aren't or don’t consider themselves survivors should be able to write and draw these subjects as well, as liking something in fiction doesn’t mean they like these things IRL, and fiction is the safest way to explore these subjects.
And people shouldn't be forced to keep it private! Because we want to find people with similar mindsets, because a story could help someone else, and because not all survivors are content creators, not all authors write the story that will personally help or touch them the most.
Finally: Liking something in fiction doesn’t mean you like it IRL.
Here’s two important links you could check out [mind the warnings!] to begin understanding where I come from with this opinion:
-“On the subject of Noncon Fanworks: Thoughts of a Reader, Writer Survivor” Essay by Anarfea
-“You are not damaged” Link to the explanation of the blog, you can decide to read further if you want.
Other good links [If you have suggestions of important links/info that should be shared related to these topics, please feel free to let me know!]:
-Rape Myths A lot of noncon and dubcon content can include rape myths which are believed or re-inforced by the abuser or other people in the work, it’s important to recognize these and know them for what they are.

PROSHIP. [Previously known as anti-anti] Is the opposite of "Anti Shipper", it means "in favor of ships/shipping" It means that they are against harassing others because of the fictional content they create or consume. No matter if the ship/kink is deemed cringy, absurd, unlikely, not canon, impure, unhealthy or problematic. They live by sayings like "Your kink is not my kink and that's ok" and "Don't like, don't read". They believe in curating your own online experience, rather than forcing people to submit to your needs and desires, and create that experience for you.
ANTI. Also known as Fanpol (fandom police), fantis (fandom antis). Meaning "Anti Ship". The term is mostly based on antis from Livejournal, Deviantart and Tumblr. They were people against specific ships. Like "Anti-Zutara", "Anti-Equara" Anti whatever ship. They would go to spaces that liked that ship and say it was wrong or stupid. At the time it was just considered fandom wank, dumb ship wars. People just angry because others refused to ship their personal OTP, who they thought was superior or more accurate, or more canon, or less/more gay, lesbian, het.
Then on tumblr people started trying to justify their dislike for ships with woke vocabulary, shipping started to become a competition of who is most woke, and who's ship is the most pure and morally correct, and if you liked the wrong ship it meant you were an abuser or rapist [For as little as liking the enemy to lovers trope], Homophobe [If you preferred a het ship over a gay one, despite you yourself being gay, lesbian, bi, or liking other mlm or wlw ships.], Pedophile [For as little as liking two adult characters in a consensual setting, who happen to have an age gap] etc.
By now this has escalated to constant dogpiling, harassment, and spreading of lies. [Tbh on both sides]. But I want to make sure I'm clear on what I personally mean, because I've seen people seriously say "Proship means Propedophilia". But that's not true, it's just about letting people ship whatever the fuck they want, yes even when you find the content gross or tasteless. Because exploring these themes in fiction is alright, and safe and responsible as long as there's warnings. And I will stand by this because even if I don't like some content, censorship is dangerous, and I have to repeat, people call ships pedo/incest for as little as two characters knowing each other from childhood.
Purity Culture: It's fandom's cancel culture, it's what it was called by most people within fandom before "Cancel Culture" became more mainstream and adopted by everyone. It's about liking the most healthiest of characters/ships/fandoms, and feeling like a morally superior person because of it.

*************** EDIT: Terms! ***************
I think this needs to be clarified, because there's been a lot of misinformation being spread for a while now.PROSHIP. Even though my own profile has warnings and such, I'll still get notes from watchers who have to tell me farewell for the occasional
gore or snuff. I feel bad for them, and really wish there was something like a blacklist so that neither me nor them would be inconvenienced.
): Come on Furaffinity..! [Even though I believe the site hasn't had any real changes in a veeeery long time.. but... hopefully someday a blacklist option will be implemented... one can wish!]
I actually use that layout more than classic, but it's only a visual update. I dunno if they
will ever put in a blacklist. Beta at least looks nice.
!! Ohh, I hadn't considered that but you're right, there might be outside programs to blacklist stuff! I'll look into it...!
