I've never really taken the time to do one of these before. I'm not sure why...I love to write, and I love to vent, and I love to talk to random-ass people, so why not do something that potentially includes all three?
Hoo boy, where do I begin? After passing a year since I lost my first job, an internship with a scientific research and IT firm, I've had a whole one other job that lasted for two months. And not for lack of looking either, but in the city where I live work is hard to find period, but damn near impossible if you don't have a college degree. And sadly I made the mistake of being struck by illness that left me bedridden for so long during my first semester of college that by the time I recovered it was just in time to withdraw before failing.
Since then, though...I don't think things have been all too bad. For one thing, I've seen a lot of communities come and go but FA has always been one that's stuck around for me. Granted I don't know too many people from FA, but the ones I do I wouldn't trade for the world. A lot of you have been a source of amazing strength, and more than one of you have actually brought me back from the brink of collapsing entirely.
I've finally had a phone interview with U.S. Cellular and the agent I interviewed with absolutely loved me and said she'd recommend me as strongly as she could for employment. So, yay! I may finally have some money to play around and commission people with!
But I still maintain that if I hadn't thrown myself out there to a few people--I won't mention any names, you know who you are--I wouldn't have even felt strong or confident enough to apply for this job, or any other. I might not even have had the strength to get out of bed in the morning. So...thank you. All of my friends, all of my watchers. Thank you.
Here's to 2019. ^^
