This rule start probably with good intentions but appear to be insanely protective toward scammers, bullies and such ...

There used to be a time on FA when Artists were using callouts to make up things about other less popular or people they hate in order to rile up hate mobs against them or to reduce their popularity because they knew people would believe them no matter what.

There's a reason the rule became so strict was when they kept trying to skirt the rules of it and as a result it is to what we have today.

While that may be a case it hasn't actually stopped that stuff. They still do the call outs, just without linking directly to the account. No matter the opinion on the people in question, this very thing happened to a certain "iguana" on this site just for an example. Multiple people on my watch list made sure to make journals shunning the person and using descriptions of their OC without explicitly stating who it was even though it was pretty obvious with the details given, and it was considered fine under FA's rules because it wasn't "naming" the person directly.

thanks for the heads up, but i'd recommend rewording this so you can talk to people offsite about this and not actually name names in the journal itself. as the person above mentioned, you could get reported for that and i'd hate to see you get in trouble~!

Tell him to leave you alone, and if he doesn't relent report him for harassment.

The FA staff should act on that, and the more victims of his harassment report him the quicker he'll be banned.

Edit: If he actually insulted you already you could also directly report him, but it definitely wouldn't hurt to tell him to leave you the fuck alone.
Also block him on FA so he can't write you anymore. If he contacts you on any other pages block and report him there as well.

already blocked him. he didnt directly insult me by calling me names or anything but he insulted my livlihood and desire to get paid for my work. so dont know where that falls

Yeah, it couldn't hurt if you report the notes he sent you to the FA staff for harassment anyway.

That's lame bullshit. It amazes me how much effort they put into getting free shit. If they spent 10% of that time learning to draw then they wouldn't need the free art.

one way to deal with them works like this:

when anyone approaches you trying to get free work, ask them what job they have and ask 'do you that job for free?'

when they say no, then ask 'why not?'.

then you can use the same reasons they give against them for why you aren't doing it for free.

everyone should be paid for their livelihood. if the offending party is too childish to understand that, then ignore replies from them.
