what are some good webcomics that dont suck and arent bad
6 years ago
question mark????????????????????????????????????
i've never taken webcomics super seriously, but i think that's just because i haven't read enough ones that are interesting. i prefer cohesive stories to one-off-gag-a-day newspaper comic wannabes and i'm definitely not into Furry Sitcoms But In Image Form, and that's basically all i've seen on sites like this. that and generic wolf comics, yargh
if any of yous guys know any stories hosted here, on deviantart, on tumblr, in actual print, literally wherever that you think are good, let me know. i need more reading material

It's got a deep plot and it's super long and not-really-furry (there are some werewolves and whatnot though)
and nice art. c:
And here's my favorite horror work by Emily Carroll: http://emcarroll.com/comics/faceallred/01.html
ahhah, a classic by ms. carroll. every comic enthusiast should read this one.
Or the Spooky Aesthetic (It has a Nice Black and White Style) of The Last Halloween: https://www.last-halloween.com/posts/1
last halloween looks pretty sick too (no pun intended ex dee). thanks!
This one is super interesting. It's about latex suits, but not in a weird fetish way, rather how they would function as living suits that feed off the blood of their wearers. It updates almost every weekday too, which is nice.

This one I have a soft spot for since I've been following it since 2010. Great if you like alien, sci-fi furry critters. I really like the artist's style.
here you go! https://www.lackadaisycats.com/
and yet ive never read past the 3rd page. i am uncultured swine!
cool range of characters http://www.piercemecomic.com/comic/c0p01/
Idk if you can tolerate anime but this one's intense. gore physical and mental abuse murder and hot gay sex. https://mangarock.com/manga/mrs-ser.....pter-100068410
hope one finds you binging.

Laid in Lavender and Scurry are both good for suspense, as far as furry comics. I have a rather long post delineating the best furry series on the site but won't spam unless asked to. Great thing about Tapastic is that it's SFW. Now, I don't mind porn, but this means the publishers need to have solid plots and character development to get a good following.
The other webcomic --by far my favourite-- is Romantically Apocalyptic. I was a huge fan for years and years and now I'm a part of the team behind it. It revolves around humans, yes, but has some of the best art you'll find in a free-to-read comic. It's been going for a couple decades now, a very surrealist mixed media account of the survivors of an apocalypse. There's audio logs recorded by voice actors, comics, written dialogue, novel-level paragraphs, gorgeous music, and even a couple filmed videos. If you ever want something to completely submerge yourself in, Romac is ideal. Bonus: has an active fanbase and the main artist is super chill and friendly. Out of the hundreds of comics I read, and thousands that I've perused, nothing will ever match it in its grandiose scale. Page 1 is here: http://romanticallyapocalyptic.com/0-1
Hotblood! was also super good,, though I'm not much a fan of romance. If you like centaurs though, you can find it here: http://hotbloodcomic.com/page/274
Not necessarily a favourite, just a good read
i've heard of romantically apocalyptic! i had no idea it was so expansive, though. i'd rather not get into it if it's super long - i'd lose interest before i could get through the whole thing - but i can't not look into it. i love when media's all over the place. thanks!
Raining Knives by Moth: bit of a murder mystery with ghosts, very fascinating.
A Better Place by Harrodeleted: a surrealist story about kids with godly powers. A strong favorite for its art, feels like it's coming up on concluding.
Terror Terror by Terror: also surrealist, kind of retrowave art style murder mystery.
Countdown to Countdown by Vel: post-apocalyptic type thing with gorgeous art. Was originally going to be a videogame but they didn't have the funds so it was converted into a webcomic.
Phantasmagoria by Ana: black and white scribble horror. I just like it a lot, though it's not my usual.
Skulls and Coins by Adrian: not super linear, but has cool art and concepts. Takes place in a society where the less flesh you have on your skull, the more commendable it is.
For What it's Worth by LiVanni is a bit graphic of a horror story, has great art. The gods are cruel to those who can see them.
Griefer Belt by Kales: one of the more popular ones, just recommending because a lot of folks like it. All about underground organ harvesting and the drama in its criminal circles.
Fisheye Placebo by Yuumei: a weird case of gorgeous art and not-super-serious dialogue. Just now recovering from a 3 year hiatus.
That's all, hope you don't have to read this on mobile lmao
Hard sci-fi, but only a couple of animal characters.

Interesting post-apocalyptic thing.
Doe of Deadwood. https://www.deviantart.com/songdog-.....-Pg1-721817621
A necromancer/demon doe that attacks and kills predators to suffice a demon tree that feeds off dead bodies. the style is very simple but gets the job done, some really good dialog and characters.
Africa. https://www.deviantart.com/arven92/.....-1-2-393150372
You've probably seen this one on the DA front page. It's am every 2 week update and the artist loves her cliffhangers, but i love the story and the art. it focuses on a female leopard's struggle to raise her two cubs after a male cheats her out of her territory.
City of Trees. https://www.deviantart.com/sanjanai.....ue-1-751766063
It's a comic about a Dhole and a Deer. It's still in it's early stages so I'm not fully sure of the comics main plot rn? It's a reboot of an older comic the OP did with the same characters, where pred and prey try to be friends. I think the premise may be the same, but darker this same.
Tofauti Sawa https://www.deviantart.com/thecynic.....wa-1-166434280
Angry female hyena and now ex-matriarch has her family destroyed by lions and is consumed by her own quest for vengeance.
there's also the black blood alliance but everybody knows about that one i think haha
oh sick, songdog! their stuff is wonderful. i've read like half of best of bad decisions and really enjoyed it. they're def more of a writer then an artist, but their writing is worth it for that alone imo
wow africa sure is getting on in years. i should give it a peek sometime, see what i've been missing. the traditional art aesthetic is pretty charming
tbh i should give city of trees a read solely because it's different then so many other dA animal comics. i like the idea of two species trying to get along when they're natural enemies
DAMN TOFAUTI SAWAS STILL GOIN. whats it been now, 10 years? i should def read it, i've read a bit before but i was in my "REEEEE HYENAS DONT HAVE PUPS THIS STORY SUCKS" phase when i first tried to. but like.... cmon, its hyenas, it doesnt get better then that
tbh the original bba kinda sucked in my humble onion but i've been meaning to read the new one. it's much prettier and even not knowing anything about her i can say i love cricket. thanks for all the suggestions btw, i owe u my life

and honestly I hella relate to your opinion when it comes to "web comics" so many of them are just those really lazy ass one offs or just super fuckin generic ass furry ones jdlhdsafkj it's seem hard to find good ones now-a-days.
