oh so it's not just me. I should have checked them earlier but eh. I thought someone was going through and deleting their comments or something.
maybe it's some sort of automated purge. since it doesn't actually let you see older entries without clearing the top ones, nor total entries (unless there's something I'm missing), it's hard to tell exactly what is happening.

Been noticing that too actually. No idea what was going on just figured old unused accounts were being purged along with comments associated with them since jce as far as I can tell the ones disappearing are years old
