Hobby

I think I might pick up another hobby soon.
I already do 3D modeling. I like it and I want to continue, but as you've seen (or rather, haven't seen), I haven't had much of that up lately.
I am working on stuff, but how many times have I said that already? I really am making stuff, but it's so far and few in-between, you can almost say I'm not.
I really don't like how some people came in and did their darnedest trying to cripple my ability to do almost anything on here, but I'm trying to get past that. Slowly but hopefully surely.
Anyway, I want to get into making dioramas. I've been interested for a while, but didn't pursue it. I'm also getting into biking.
I don't know if you can consider biking to be a hobby. Maybe depending on how long and how serious you get into it.
My biggest issue with both of these are space and money.
I do want to continue to get better (or rather, relearn everything at this point) with 3D and really expand what I'm able to do. I want to try out several of the ideas I had for a long time now. But the good thing about 3D is that it takes up no space and is free.
Well, it takes up digital space, which is physically tiny, and it's usually free. You don't have to pay for a 3D package unless someone makes you feel as though you have to (you really don't), but for the more serious out there, there are paid tutorials and addons.
I mentioned bikes a month ago. Since then I've been looking into it a lot. I didn't realize they get that expensive. Like, stupid expensive if you're going for pro stuff. Well, I say pro, but many others say quality or good or average or whatever.
Dropping $1-2k on an "average but decent" bike (BIcycle, not MOTORcycle) is in my opinion ridiculous. I've seen some go for well over $8k, and even then, that's not often top-of-the-line.
I do still want to get into it for various reasons, but I'm steering clear of those price tags. I know what I want to get now, and I do plan on upgrading it. After upgrades, it might be as high as $800 someday, but at least I'll have room to expand and afford things.
That's the money aspect, but then there's the space aspect. I should just be able to put it in the room by the door, but now that's more space and another expense I have to worry about. Bleh.
I've been thinking about dioramas and resin stuff for a while now. Some dioramas can get pretty epic, big, and expensive looking real fast. I've had an idea or two about resin stuff that I wanted to try out.
But again, more space and more money. I'll just have to take things slowly I guess and see what I can do.
Gonna clean my room and go through some of this unwanted stuff first though, heh heh.

little worlds how we can imagine they could be, how we could enjoy living in them,
yes, this has been my inspiration all my life, and perversely, i've seldom had place to build and keep them.
to make up for this, yes that is why i make and post what i do on the computer.
this is really an integral part of my life.
more then any social relationships i've ever had.
parents, lovers, anyone.
i don't always tell people this, because its some weird thing about the human ego,
that some people seem to take it unhappily, that for some people,
there are other things more interesting then people.
i feel bad myself if i ever make anyone feel bad, with the exception of if someone is harassing me,
and no one on line is.
but anyway, the first love of my life was seeing a little model train run around a friend of my dad's basement when i was one year old.
from the time i was five or six, i was always making models, and also designing and dreaming about making constructed spaces.
it was only a matter of time, until in adolecense i began combining the two.
i became fascinated with building models of scenery, but i've never gotten around to learning bonsai.
i'd love to be able to combine that with models of houses and things that move.
anyway i've never had the money to make full size stuff, all the permits and the land and all that,
none of which has anything to do with nature but everything to do with human egos and the self importance of others getting in the way,
i've always been more fascinated with making little things, little worlds, then all the crap, accumulation enough money,
to make them in full size real life, is all about.
