Back from Florida (Have been really)

The trip actually ended up being quite nice by the end of it all, I didn't get to see someone I was really looking forward to seeing due to it just being a difficult situation, but on the last day my Aunt Suzy woke me up with a newspaper with a MASSIVE BIRD SHOW on the front page! She took me and we had a real blast, it's by far the biggest bird show I've been to yet and I got to see a lot of birds you don't commonly see in Aviculture in Texas. (Golden Conures! Slender-billed Conures! Jardines!) Toys were half the price of what they are at pet stores, and I ended up coming home with a Blue-Front Amazon, as you can probably tell if you've been watching my submissions.
Turns MOST MAJOR COMMERCIAL AIRLINES will let you take birds on board in a small compatable carrier, EXCEPT FOR AMERICAN AIRLINES. They were quite rude about it too, and since that was my flight back I ended up having to catch a different one with a more reasonable airline.
I'm all birded out for now but oh goddd I wish I could afford to run my own Aviary!
In other news, my computer is now up and running thanks to
langston and his mad computer skillz. I'd also like to thank him and his lovely 
farorenightclaw for helping me get 're-instated' back into AnthroCon after the misunderstanding that went down.
For those of you that didn't know, I left my ex-boyfriend, Colton, and moved out of his house after AnthroCon, and I'm back living with family. I'm actually... Still 75% unpacked so for now there's no scanner/printer, and I'm seriously unorganized for the time being. No art until I can FIND IT.
Oh yeah, and I'd like to get back into WoW. Really, really bad. But I want a group of people to play with who'll actually fucking play with me. (I've had groups form only to dissolve after a week or two, and I'm tired of re-rolling. :|) A furry guild would be massively cool, so long as it's composed of the more. Uhmm... 'Normal' furries, I guess. I'm generally a very laid back/dramafree person so come on, lets play World of Warcraft.

Also birdies! I've recently begun to not be SO creeped out by 'em. I think it was the intelligence that has started to win me over... also, dinosaurs! You know? haha.
But yeah, I'm sorry you had to see him. :| The whole situation was just so much bullshit. I actually found out when I got home that he'd broken my hyoid when he was strangling me. (it's healed but I can now make my neck go crunnnch when I touch it the right way.)
But yeah, he did look like trouble because he was trouble. :| I really hate that things had to happen how they did, I mean it helped me get the strength to actually leave him, but I didn't get to have much fun at AnthroCon, and I think I damaged a couple of friendships that were very important to me. I made a mistake going but if I hadn't I'd probably still be in that same situation.
BUT YEAH, don't be creeped out by birdies! They just have a totally different body language and way of communicating. And they're so, so smart. PLUS: CUDDLY. Birds raised around people (This is even true of owls and eagles that are unable to be rehabilitated) are excruciatingly affectionate. Some rehabbers even say the best enrichment you can give an unreleasable bird of prey is affection; preening and cuddling. My parrots are cuddlebugs! And they ALL look like little dinosaurs to me, to be honest. And I'm nuts about dinosaurs so.... I don't know.
A few years ago I actually knew next to nothing about birds. I assumed what we'd been generally taught years ago was true without looking into what the development of science has shown us. (Alex. ;_; And Wesley. ;_;)
I think I would be so scared I'd accidentally hurt a bird xD That seem fragile and I am so absent minded and clumsy. And oblivious. I mean, I it on one of my cats, they just get bitchy, but a bird could be hurt by much less than that, eh? I like any animal that seems so intelligent, though, I see it almost as if they're windows into the animal kingdom, as cheesy as that is. :B
And yeah, that's the downside to birds. They are kind of fragile. They can take quite a bit more than you'd suspect, though. As long as you know you shouldn't ever hit one, you're probably fine, just don't fall asleep and roll over on one, either. My Amazon, Monty tries to fly all the time even though his wings are clipped and hasn't quite gotten his landings down very gracefully-- I've seen him make a few tumbles that I thought would have me at the emergency vet's and in debt, but he was okay. Cranky, sore, but okay. It's just birds hide their symptoms of pain SO WELL (because a sick bird is easy prey) so you really have to moniter their health closely (and sometimes paranoidly). :C

I had my wisdom teeth out a week ago and now I've got some kind of infection so it might be a bit before I call, but I definately will when I'm feeling better. Feel free to note/text/AIM/WHATEVERS me whenevers.

WoW you say? For the win..Sinny got me playing WoW on Alexstraza. I have two toons over there (lvl69 Orc Hunter and lvl13 Mage Enchanter). I have two more toons, I think on Astonidas, but I never really play with them. A furry guild would be awesome..I kinda like the guild that I'm a part of (they helped me level and such) but I don't really connect with them. When I'm not having to work 24/7, I'm usually on WoW in the evenings (which sometimes turn into mornings).
