On April 9, 2019 the world-spanning network of telescopes called the Event Horizon Telescope zoomed in on the supermassive monster in the galaxy M87 to create this first-ever picture of a black hole. Image, seeing something more than 50 million light years away; something with so much gravity that even light can not escape it. So how did we see it? We did not.
