Wise words, I think the same, but problem is that people nowadays are separated and they are identify more with the groups, which represents their both system of values and political views.The problem is not beeing in group, but the separation between "We are the goodies, they are the baddies". So they are writing such statments to separate from all those "bad guys". Its not a healthy way to solve problems, a good discusion is.

The "Us vs Them" mentality is extremely common these days, especially on twitter, and it really just tears this community apart.
Which is saddening, because I thought this community was all about bringing people with similar interests together in the first place.

You are right, at the beggining it was like this, but people, thanks to social media, thinks that they are the heroes of this current world, they think they way of thinking and opinions matter, so they are "fighting" with the baddies, using words and blocking. But the problem is, that its not easy to make perfect system of values, thats why we need a discusion, I don't see any problems myself to talk with people on the far left and right spectrum, becouse maybe my way of thinking is incorrect, and how can I check this, if not through the discusion?

It probably all goes back to tolerance.
Their mindset is "why bother dealing with disagreements or negativity when I can just ignore it?" thus why people are so block-happy these days. Rather than sitting down and dealing with the issue, they take the easy way out, when in actuality, it doesn't solve the problem. They've grown too weak or fragile to actually settle the ordeal, so they ignore it and block it out as much as they can so they feel like the "victor" or "hero."

Yes, I agree with statement that it makes them fragile. Its actually self-hurting them, without talking with people they live in a safe bubble, problem is that its not a healthy approach to the world, its always healther to take in to consideration that you can be wrong. I'm not completly againts blocking, for example its ok to block someone who is strictly aggresive towards you or is a psycho and dangerous, but someone who have diffrent opinion than you? Nah, its not an excuse.

It's perfectly fine if someone doesn't like something but they don't have to be so openly hostile towards it
People really just need to accept that everyone has different values and opinions, even if they don't agree with them

I feel it's fine to express what you like and don't like on your profile.
But at the same time openly saying what will happen if they encounter something they don't like seems unnecessary.

Mhm, blocking especially so, since once you're blocked there's nothing you can do to come into contact with that person, so it should be done only as a last resort (like if someone is endlessly harassing you), not just because you posted a comment they don't like

I agree, I've gotten blocked by many people for no real reason, and/or without ever saying anything to them because of that shit.
