Oh wow! I didn't realize that the same people who made the Whitefang movie on Netflix also made a Call of the Wild! I really want to see it now. But now it makes even less sense to me how they changed the end of Whitefang... The author of Whitefang and Call of the Wild wrote those two books to represent different sides of the same coin. The dichotomy of Man and Nature, Wolf and Dog, Good Men and Bad Men is heavy in both books. Call of the Wild is supposed to end with Buck in the wilderness, and Whitefang is supposed to end with Whitefang in a peaceful, domestic living situation. So unless the movie directors also changed the ending of Call of the Wild so that Buck ended up living among humans, the two stories together will not hold as much weight as they are supposed to be different endings to the same general premise.

It's a shame I missed Bilby when it was on Youtube... I never got the memo!

Oh wait, now that I'm looking at this link you posted, that -is- the Whitefang movie. So they haven't made a Call of the Wild that I'm aware of... Yet.

Sorry, there is no original title given on the Amazon page, so I apparently confused the two books and used the wrong English title. Indeed, under "White Fang" I can find a trailer on youtube.

Haven't seen the movie yet, it's been a while since I read either book. So I can't tell whether it's a good movie and/or true to the book. But the rendering style did make me curious.

Michel Gagné is working on "Saga of Rex", an animated version of his graphic novel. I've been excited about it for several years. Although the author hasn't posted any news since February, so I really hope it's still coming along.
