Well heck...

That was a lot more art than I thought.
So, yeah...I found a folder crammed in the back of my closet full of art that I thought had been lost and gone forever...And you get to share in my rediscovery of all my old CRAP! Okay, I severely limited how much of the REALLY old crap I posted, but there is some in there...
This is a range of stuff from 1983 to 1995, which is kind of when my drawing hand fell off the face of the earth. It's illustrations for stories, random scribbles, pieces of unfinished art...Whatever looked good enough to share.
Hope you enjoy.
In other news...One nice thing about seeing my crap from 1983 is that I can see what I'm doing now is scribbly and awful but not so scribbly and awful as I was way back then. Right now I'm gonna guess that I'm about on par with my 1988-1989 work, right before the big jump I made in 1990-1991.
Pirates, pinups, vikings, vixens in space...A little bit of everything. Some more artwork from the Revar stories, and also I found a full-size print of the Shiraj portrait, so I was able to scan that and improve on the itty-bitty little piece.
I've gone from thirteen pieces of art to, uh...Fifty-six?!
Next month my goal is to have at least one scribble done that I'm pleased to put up that is dated TWO THOUSAND SEVEN.
Cross your fingers, or something.

Can't wait to see it
I hope so, anyway. Glad you enjoyed it all!
I was scanning an item in, cleaning it up, uploading it, going and grabbing a drink, stopped for dinner, all that kinda stuff...
So I understand, but I wasn't intentionally loading them up 'en bloc'. Sorry about that. You can always hit the gallery later at your own convenience. I'm not one of these folks who goes 'Oh, it's Tuesday, time to delete everything in my gallery more than a month old.' Never understood that.
Not sure about that whole 'right path' thing, though. There are an infinity of paths...
I do so like the rats.
I used to watch your FurNation page when it was *new* for updates, even.
*grins* I suppose that's why FA has a "scraps" section, if worse comes to worse. :)
You know, I can say that you are one of my better, genuine influences not just in art, but in life. Now before you say "uh oh" I can tell you that it's something that's been consistent. You've been a mentor to me, and it feels so strange but I'm realizing that I'm passing on what you've taught me to others.
It's odd, but I'm noticing things come full circle. Within this past week I've had three separate artists come up to me out of the blue and say "you were one of the first furry artists I saw and you've been this influence in my art, etc."
I'm thinking, "wow, have I really been around THAT long?" I mean, I know time in furry years is sped up exponentially, but still. It's weird and amazing at the same time. I'm not going to say, "man, I'm getting old", but at the same time I'm going to hit 30 this year, and while 30 is an age that can be laughed at when you're 40, still...I'm feeling it man. It sucks! I'm loosing hair, my body is letting go, hell I'm letting go. HA! Oh how unfair!
But I'm getting away from the point. I'm saying that I don't think I could have been influential to those artists if you were influential to me. You picked me up when I wanted to give up, you're a hero and a teacher, a shoulder to cry on, and an ear to hear me. I feel that I've been practically disrespectful to you that I've been living in the area and haven't come to see you. I guess I took for granted that I see you every year at FC, and this year you weren't there.
This is slowly evolving into a private message, but I'll just slow down a bit, but I'm wondering now when we can make plans to meet somewhere? I hope thing are going well. Gah, I need to contact Mousie, too now that I think about it. >_<
But yes, I want to see new work from you. 2007!!!
And that whole 'You were my first furry artist...' thing, isn't that kinda spooky? Is it blame or what? XD
Thirty? Heh. Heh. I don't know if I'm ready to _laugh_ at thirty, but yes, time passes quickly, and it's easy to look back and see all the paths untaken.
We are conduits of knowledge, what we learn, what we discover, it only has so much value if we keep it to ourselves. Watching it spread and watching others wonder and create with what we have handed them is far more fulfilling.
I am very glad that I was able to help and be there when needed. Sorry to have missed FC. It has been a strange year so far for me.
