My hysto is tomorrow, and that'll be the last procedure I feel like I really need for my transition. Then I can finally live without the constant weight of dysphoria and the anxiety of being caught, or any potential for cancers or other complications in the future. It's exciting, but feels weird - like I've been handed freedom, but I've never actually had it before, so I don't...exactly know what to do with it haha

So far the worst of the hysto for me was the catheter they left in until midnight or so, and the bloating from the gas they put into your body cavity so it's easier to work in - it made my ribs and shoulders pretty sore and I could only get relief by laying flat for a while or sitting/standing really straight. Meds have taken care of any pain/discomfort fine otherwise, and just the fact that your mobility isn't hindered has made the hysto a bit more comfortable than recovery from top, for me.
I should also note that I had a robotically assisted hysto, which resulted in only four 1 cm incisions on my stomach, so I'm sure the discomfort is a lot better than those who have had to get much larger incisions.
