You're not alone. I fell down the stairs a while back and hurt my knees and back.

I did something like this when I was younger was worried same but just landed really hard and muscles were bit bruised.

Was jumping down set of stairs and pinged my head on the dividing wall above the stairs and made a huge dent in the drywall lol..
but landed on my ass, considered myself lucky that had a bigger then average butt tho to cushion the fall.

If its still hurting now might be bit more than a bruise tho.

tailbone fractures/injury can be tricky, a doctor or walk-in could probably diagnose it best but generally I think the treatment is the same so long as there's no complications.
I would generally of course at least recommend visiting a walk-in if you can as advice online can only go so far.

Just lots of rest, anti-inflammatory may help depending on type of injury, reduce pressure on it, i.e those doughnut pillows for instance, avoid sitting long periods, putting majority of weight through that area of your body sorta stuff.
