So, today we had to have my cat, Kirby, put down. He was diagnosed with a stage 3 kidney disease a few months ago, for which there is no cure. We were feeding him special food that would treat it and make things more comfortable for him in his remaining time.

Well, on Saturday my mom told me that he wasn't doing well. He hadn't eaten in several days and was becoming very lathargic. When I went to see him, I could tell that the end was near.

Then, yesterday, she tells me that she was going to have my brother come and take him to the vet on Monday, so I went to see him one last time.

I'm trying to take solace in the fact that he was 19 years old, so he lived a long, happy life, but it's just so hard to think that he's gone.
