Hey, all! Remember this resolutions journal? Well I'd wanted to follow up on my progress or lack thereof on some of the main parts of it, starting with successes!
Health - overall, I've put more of a focus on being healthier this year and it's done well. I've lost nearly 25lbs. (11kg) since the start of the year, and am making small adjustments to keep this up. Gym going has been off and on, but I'm considering the more active lifestyle overall to be the real success. Moving forward I still want to do more and build some muscle, but small steps. By the end of the year I'd like to lose another 25 lbs. (11kg).
Art - I have been keeping up less with art than I would have liked. I have done a few personal story projects, but the drawing has been lacking. It's difficult to stay motivated for drawing, even when I do put in practice, but part of that does fall on me. I need to be a little less reclusive and proud and ask for help critiques, as well as admitting that I need more practice than I've been putting in. I'll get there, but it's going to be a lot slower than I originally thought.
I have done some more performance type stuff - I've gotten back into music quite a bit and been playing pretty regularly. I've also put in some voice auditions for small animation projects. I've had some good results and feedback so far, which is encouraging. I want to stick with it, and plan to hit all the voice acting panels at AC this year as well to pick up some tips I might not know.
Life stuff - In general, I've worked to be more responsible financially. The prospect of moving within a year is terrifying, but exciting. I can't wait, but at the same time, I would like to avoid this for as long as possible.... It's daunting to say the least, moving from renting to home ownership...
I'm really quite pleased with the progress I've made so far this year and hope to keep it up as I move forward. I know there are some things that still need work but one thing at a time! Here's to another great 6 months!
