i lean more on shooter games and fighter games cuz of online multiplayer. Open world games, rpg, and action/adventure are good too as long as the action is more intense and story makes sense giving me a real reason to enjoy the game.

I'm personally looking forwards to Doom Eternal. I know, it's being published by Bethesda in the wake of their Fallout and Elder Scrolls fuck-ups, but Doom 2016 was a fucking blast! And if the demos are anything to go by, Doom Eternal looks like it'll go at least as big, probably bigger!
But if you're looking for something a little different that's already out, try Crosscode. It's a fast-paced ARPG with some of the best combat mechanics I've seen in a while, some fun puzzles and an interesting story that takes place in a future where people have taken MMORPGs to new heights with full-body simulations; basically true VR. You play as Lea, a girl with amnesia, trying to piece together her lost memories through a mysterious connection she shares to the MMO called Crossworlds. Due to a bug during her installation she's basically mute while in Crossworlds, but she still manages to be full of personality from moment one. I've not played through all of it, but what I HAVE played was fantastic! It's a game that deserves all the attention it can get! And you can get it either on console or PC, whichever you prefer.

If you're looking for a free to play that's not pay to win, I'd easily pick crossout. (With how matchmaking is, it's more "pay to progress faster")

Looking for an indie? Try Forager. I had fun beating it once through.

Rougelike? FTL is super fun, though I reccomend the captains eddition DLC. (Or whatever it's called, I forget the DLC's name.)

Of these I most reccomend Crossout most because You can make your own vehicle and battle other people's. And not just "a bunch of customization but still limited" but 100% customized.

7 days to die is hauntingly addictive, Thea the awakening is also very fun and random for lots of replay, Dominions 4 is also very random and fun for all the options it gives you, Mount and Blade warband will have you playing for hours to just spear peons with lances, Of course gotta recommend Civ 5 and 6 as well as galactic civ 2 (dont like 3), Fallen Enchantress Legendary Heroes is very fun and has lots of ways to customize your armies, Stellaris is also very fun and a bit of a step up from things like Galactic Civ. The remake of Masters of Orion is fun, and Oh, Sir! is very cheap but very fun.

Also, must recommend the beast of the PC land, Dwarf Fortress.
