Quite shocked. Dogbomb's passing
General
I just found out after being away for way too long. To say I'm stunned is an understatement. He was a bit younger than me IRL (edit: 2 years older,), and from what I can gather he deteriorated rapidly.
This is pretty shocking news.
I'm glad that I got to meet him. My greatest condolences to his family and to all that were special to him.
I'm trying to go to AC this year, my first in a long time, and Choco will (finally) be riding his first "motorcycle" (actually a Spyder F3) if we get there. Paying respects at
Runtt's concert will certainly be on the to-do list.
(adds) I am actually finding myself getting angry about Dogbomb's passing. Only 2 years older than me and this so-called fantastic health care system couldn't do anything for him, couldn't save him?? We, Choco and I, have a friend succumbing to Parkinson's, he just went into forced retirement and disability 2 months ago, he is about 5 short years my senior. While they are doing their best for him, he has had body control and medication issues. He is a sweet, sweet man and I'd even take him and his husband, who just this past week got into a serious car accident because of an undiagnosed heart problem and he passed out behind the wheel, into our home to help care for [them] if need be.
It's all very, very upsetting. Maybe I'm just getting too much at one time, my own comparatively minor issues of respiratory and renal, and now friend's and acquaintances Parkinson's and death. It seems a constant assault. Dogbomb has just pushed me over an edge.

We like to think our health system is one of the best in the world, but unfortunately, many other countries are far ahead of us in the medical fields. Our healthcare is based on money instead of providing the best care for those needing it.
The health system is broken in this country but it's all a brainwashing lie, but believed as long as the "right" people tell the gullible, unwashed masses that everything is great. And then they vote, based upon the lies, nothing much comes true, but as long as they believe it will one day, they'll Keep the Faith.
The only reason I have health care, through recent double surgeries, is ACA. I've never had coverage in my adult life until ACA, but it's not considered good enough by the idiots who believe the talking heads...because it can interfere with health care corporate profits.
We've gotten the rotten to the core system that the people have voted for.
But that optimistic view doesn't always take into account all those other factors and then some, that impede progress, and unnecessarily so. I think in 30-50+ years we'll be actually closer to that time frame so many places talk of, compared to now. There's so many breakthroughs and new or improved technologies...I just don't hold my breath because a bunch of those were talked of with such glee when I was a kid, and we're no closer now than we were then. I'm sure there's people alive now that will reap those benefits, but there's gonna inevitably be that group who will be some of the last to die of such things before it finally slows or is completely stopped.
Am glad you guys are making it to AC and getting back into the social swing. I've actually stayed out of alot of social things for a long time now, but am always procrastinating about going back to a meet or two.
Well, enough sadness. I have had years of that, now. It's great to be able to talk to you again, it's been too long.
I know amigo, and that meant the world to me, even if I never took you up on it. Just knowing I had that kind of support mechanism when everything else around seemed hopeless means more than one can realize.
