Our governor had an announcement that we can't let a few bad actors undermine the good work and intentions of thousands, he was talking about the protestors but I was thinking about the boys in blue as well as all the firefighters and first responders, same thing, a couple bad actors ruin it for everyone. There's a place for looters and public officials who do bad things, its called jail. I see a pasty white guy with a honk if you support BLM poster. I kind of thought someone should have a honk twice if you think ALM, declaration of independence says All men are created equal. No matter the color. creed, gender or social standing, everyone deserves a fair shake and to be treated with an even hand. Mr Floyd deserved to either be handed a summons or taken to jail and allowed to post bail like everyone else for the check fraud. The officers within 100 feet of that scene all hold some responsibility as does the use of force training officer. I had that certification every year as I imagine does just about anyone with a badge. We had a pair of scumbag officers, one is now a convicted felon and the other is in the wind someplace. I suppose if more people were kind and thoughtful and followed some civil rules, we wouldn't have so much to watch on news after the weather.

I was just reading comments to a video posted where a sheriff pointed his gun to the head of a private investigator and pretty much overreacted to the scene. It seems the problems with police is not good enough vetting, then improper training where civilians are turned into "the enemy". And then you get the police union chief intentionally advocating this type of military thinking

It's a mess.

I got out because of lousy pay, I think that's part of it, the really good smart folks often go private sector. Yeah, again, one bad actor over reacting to a non situation. In some crazy crime areas, unfortunately, the military model is the best method for survival when you're dealing with heavily armed criminals and gangs but sadly, its hard to scale down to deal with minor incidents. I know its very hard to downshift after a couple stressful incidents.

It's easy to fall into the mindset that we're in such "modern and hip times" that surely we're over all these demons from out past, but I think people sometimes forget how fucking young this country is. For a country as big and powerful as ours, it's exceedingly young. We're selfish, greedy, ignorant and always wanting more. Our country is still basically a teenager, we're a pissy, douchey teenager who's still figuring themselves out cause they haven't had enough time on Earth. Are things far better here than most of the planet, for the most part, yes, without a doubt. We still got alot of work to do and some growing up to do? Definitely. We've been through worse, and we're gonna inevitably experience even worse as time goes on, that's just the result of time marching on. Whether its something out of our control or something within our own doing, there's always worse times to be had. Then the dust settles, we pick up and move on, hopefully a little wiser each time. It's a bumpy ride, but eventually things smooth out.

And I'm quite tired of it.

We've jumped backwards instead of forwards for a while but maybe, just maybe, there'll be a spurt of actual advancement due to all this. 39% of America never seems to WANT advancement, we spent far too much energy and money pulling these dipshits out of the past to try to live in the actual century they occupy. Somehow, that "prefect America" to these inbreds is now the 1950's, because they were children and everything was happy for them.

So it's up to the rest of us trying our best to be responsible adults, to try to actually make things work.

It's a semi chaotic time, where there seems to be no answers, cause both sides are so disgustingly corrupted. You'd think on the old morons side, one just has to wait for them to die off, but then there's the younger generation who seemingly mean well but are going equally fucking nuts with their ideology and so the seeming majority of chill, in the middle people are squashed and pressured from either side. For me it's just sitting on the side lines watching and hoping both sides kill each off, so the actually reasonable, sane ones are what's left. A lovely pipe dream but human kind hasn't really got a good history of this on its score board. Then again, I've never been one for human kind in general.

Odd you say that, because I've pretty much taken a hands-off approach: I'm only one person and can't make much of a difference. So I just accept it all and await them either fixing it...or fucking it. It's mostly beyond my reach to fix.
