Nanobots to make chakats out of people?

Someday but not today, I have thought of some sort of advanced nano bot technology that can conceive, alter and eliminate at will plus expand or contract in mass, size, shape or one of the other. Perhaps within our lifetime such technology would have matured to a viable point of fixing material but as far as I know, it is moot. Honestly I really wished this would happen sooner but this as far as it sounds is a work of Star Trek like fiction. Just some ideas, but hey; a kat can dream...
Also need to rewire the brain for the extra limbs, and training on using same.
If appearance is what matters most, a fully-prosthetic body could accomplish that much sooner... probably around the middle of this century, if that becomes a goal of some viable R&D firm.
With the Nano robot technology changing the body and repairing the body would be relatively simple, but changing how someone thinks and how they would react and feel that's a much more complex problem and I don't think the Nanobots what do that
