I think your best option would be Option 1. This account is kinda tainted by it being a smut account right now. Even wiping out the smut from it people will remember what used to be on it. As a personal note I would love to see more SFW art from you at some point, as well as music.

I have to agree with Option 1. It's incredibly convenient not to have to range across numerous websites, and this is where most of your fans are used to finding you.

What I might suggest, if you go with Option 1, is to post brief journal entries here when you have something available on your music account, so people who haven't yet followed that one will know that there's even more EmptySet goodness to discover.

One other suggestion: while a lot of the art on this account is erotic, there have been some G-rated pieces over the years. If you want your family to be able to see your work on FA, you might consider moving some of those pieces to your music account, and showing them that one; that would be much easier than migrating all the other work. (Just make sure the SFW filter is on!)

Option one for sure. Trying to bleach your underpants at this point would do nothing but disappoint those people who have followed you for so long. If it were me, I'd simply make a separate brand entirely for music and SFW work. Either that or change the name a bit so that there wouldn't be any crossed wires.

Anyone with any interest in your history will search your name. It's seems inevitable that such a search would turn up the history of the name, at least for a number of years. Various info and wiki sites will return 'infotmative' results, for instance, and google images may find things from various archive sites directly.

If a goal would be to maintain compartmentalization, using the name "Emptyset" would probably be a bad idea. You likely also cannot be too tongue-in-cheek with your watchers while using multiple accounts, or someone will accidentally make an obvious link.

I think the options depend how concerned you really are about having 'smut' tied back to you. If it would be devastating, may want to be more than slightly careful.

I'd say option 1 or option 2, whichever is easier for moving your files from one account to the other. We'd never want to lose your smut altogether!

Stuff will be online forever once it has been posted. There will always be a backup from some webcrawler since your account is set to be public for unregistered users. Even setting it to registered users only will not hide your stuff from evil webcrawlers. From that point of view removing something doesn’t help hiding it that much. Option 1 would be the best choice if you’re afraid that your family might see it.

If you want to stay in the maths area, something like null_set; it's different enough that people are less likely to go to the wrong one, but similar enough that people can remember it - and of course it's a synonym!

If you want to go farther afield, perhaps something which references Buckaroo Banzai - physicist, neurosurgeon, test pilot, rock musician, and protagonist of one of the loopier and more enjoyable films of the 80s.
