an indigenous cultural site, for thousands of years, before the construction of nellis afb, which surrounds area 51, which surrounds it.
i had assumed, it seems mistakenly, this to be relatively common knowledge.

at the root of speculation about the site having been used to reverse engineer, or attempt to do so, craft of other worldly origin,
its known real history being both the secretive development of experimental craft and an area used for the underground testing of nuclear devices.
