sorry it took all month to update that ;p so I got there and back safely. it was a bit small of a convention but not too small. But it was small enough I never got badge checked until Sunday which I a found amusing. Also another example of it being small was the artshow. One of the most informal ones Ive run into in my years and years of going to fur cons. There was no bidder sheets other then attached to the art pieces so you needed your own pen and paper to keep track of your bids. They just had a 3 ring binder notebook to write down names and info to hand out bidder numbers.I think I was number 49. And finally reg was in the hotel lobby. On the positive side, being a small con meant the lines were never bad.
The dealers room was poorly laid out with only one way to travel through it .It was a long winding corridor. The artist alley room was as big as the dealers room and was ridiculously sparse.that was poor planning on their part. The hotel had a long winding hallway that wrapped around the convention space so it got crowded easily at times. also speaking of crowding... people REALLY need to STOP taking pictures of fursuiters in the middle of hallways and dealer room alleys. Its so damn rude to halt everybodys progress just so you can take a photo. there usually are designated areas for such things.
I got a few good commissions at the con. The voice actors (the main cast of agretsku ) were all fantastic especially Ben Deskin . Though I dont think they ever once used their provided dealers room table which was another dealers room mistake by the young convention. To be fair to the voice actors they had nothing to sell and their autograph sessions were in the hotel lobby so there was no reason for them to be in the con dealer room.
I ate at the blackeye pea restaurant a few times which was nice. Also ate at Fazolis on the way there and the way back .
Stats for the con were attendance 2,735. Charity raised over 14,000.and the theme for 2020 is Renfair. I`m not sure I`ll be back next year though.I might give it another year to grow. I might hit BLFC next year and or maybe the san antonio fur con besides my usual Anthrocon I go to every year.
