Tim Burton, Timur Bekmambetov and Shane Acker's 9 comes out next week and as a lover of animation, I am greatly looking forward to this. You hardly ever see a movie like this. My only regret is the inevitability of parents bringing kids because "It's a cawtoOOOONN!!!! Cabron!"
I am sick of animation always being seen as this perfect pacifier for ADHD munchkins! Seriously, when you think about it, animation was never meant for kids in the first place! Bugs Bunny was a drag queen, Daffy Duck is just too fucking awesome for kids, Pepe's a pervert.
Disney was never so innocent either. Seriously! Who did not have nightmares from seeing Pinocchio's friend turn into a donkey. For god's sake, The Great Mouse Detective has a mouse girl singing "Let me be good to you" in what is obviously a gentleman's club for mice. And I absolutely love how if you watch closely, you can actually see what looks like blood spurting when that first hyena bites into Scar's throat at the end of the Lion King. SEE FOR YOURSELF!!!
