Why you shouldn't worry about popularity!

This one is a rambling journal, so if you don't want to read, feel free to just put your feet up and watch some funny videos instead!
The point of this journal is to say, remember who you got around you. If you can get yourself some good friends (and I'm not saying you have to talk every day! I have friends who don't talk to me for months, years, but when they come back it's like we never stopped talking!) and remember that popularity is fleeting, you're all set.
On a website like this it's easy to wonder, "How did they get so popular? I wish I was that popular!" and from then it's easy to fall into a cycle of self loathing or hating these people. But honestly, remember, it's very very fleeting. And in some ways, that's sad for them too! It's nice to have attention, I think we all crave it to a degree. Then to have it go is awful...
Which is why I say, keep those close friends close! Never forget them and just have a nice chat every now and then.

I'm hardly active here online, but whenever I have a chance, once in a while, I'll
manage to log on here and share comments on some works or reply to someone's
journal or just chat every now and then. I don't get to as often as I would have liked, but
I enjoy the works that the artist share here, and enjoy sharing my works when ever I could. ^^
I never bothered with posting journals anymore, cause personally, it's a waste of effort in my experience.
I tried, but the lack of response, after awhile became off putting, and I just didn't care to share my thoughts
anymore. I'll only share what I share if it happens to be within other people's best interest, like thier own works,
or regarding what ever matters to them at the moment. I'll just play it by ear. Works for me. (shrugs)
I'm really damn lucky and it's all because I focus on just being kind. Do your best to be a kind, compassionate person and you'll find kind, compassionate people to befriend. That's the only kind of popularity that truly matters.
