Hey there!
So it's been a while since I've last made a journal. I've not been very good at that.
But a lot has been going on in my life.
But most importantly, a chance to realize my life long dream.
Ever since I was 11 years old, and met my first Scottish person...I have dreamed of living in Scotland.
The music, the culture, the people, the lands...everything about Scotland I really love.
I have done a lot of research as to what it takes to immigrate over there. I know what will be needed and how much. I've checked to see what kind of jobs as an immigrant I could legally do. Well, actually my wife. How long it would take to become a citizen and just what it means to me and my wife to be able to do this.
Turns out that a skilled job that my wife can do is OTR driving. It makes enough to allow her to get a work visa and for us to stay there.
After 5 years we can apply for citizenship. This is something we both really want.
And as I have mentioned, it's something I really want.
This is what I came up with for a budget for the move and living expenses.
6 month budget
Rent at £400. pcm £2400. per 6 months
Internet - About £35.00 per month - about £210.00 /6 months
Electric - About £60.00 per month - about £360.00 /6 months
Gas - About £60.00 per month - Bout £360.00 /6 months
Water - £48.00 Per month - About £288.00 /6 months
Food - About £400.00 per month. [this includes toiletries and laundry] - About £2400.00 per 6 months
Total cost to move over and to live there for
6 months for two people is £9018.00
+ airplane tickets 1500.00 round trip x2 people
***If deciding to take the driving course to drive a lorry long distance, the cost can be financed, for 2 years, it would be a £280.00 deposit, which is paid right at the start, then followed with a £126.10 per month for 24 months.
But...We need help to get there. We need help to make our goal. We're hoping to move over there in a year...two Tops.
And this is where I'm asking for help.
I will be more than happy to make jewelry for you if you donate. I will do shout out to you on video, if you have art, I'll feature it on there as well.
I would prefer to be able to give back to those that donate. Be it work on some art, or feature your art in a video, and most certainly, when I do make new videos over there, to add your name and thanks for making this all possible.
If you have Any questions at all please don't hesitate to ask.
If you could share the gofundme link that would be helpful as well. Share this journal too.
Our min. goal is £5,000 Pounds. But to be able to make sure everything is covered, including costs such as my medication for 6 months, and unforeseen things, we'd like to attempt to save up £10,000 Pounds.

I mean yes, I'll miss my friends here and all...but in the end...I feel the need to do this really outweighs any need to stay here. [does that make sense?]
Any help, even spreading the journal/link to the page is very helpful. <3
The political climate here is certainly one of the reasons. Love is another, the Strong desire to see, and live somewhere not only new, but outside of this country is overwhelming.
The need to spread my mother's ashes someplace that represents what I remember about her is also important to me.
As for it not being the same as before, everything changes, including out perception of places. It may not be as laid back as you once remembered it, but that doesn't mean it isn't worth another shot, in a different light perhaps.
Where we're hoping to move to is to Yorkshire county, near Hull.
I've been pricing out flats, and cost of living and lord knows whatever else. My head feels full of these things...The desire, the need is most likely one of the strongest things i've ever felt.
I if you'd like, can tell you the other reasons, but it would have to be in Private, as some things I cannot or do not wish to announce in public at this time.
But I will say this...
Safety and Health plays a big role as well.
A lot of the old has been bulldozed and replaced with new and modern. A lot more motorcars on the road, few use the public transport any more, everything has become congested (just like here). I talk to furs I know back there, and they also aren't happy with the changes. I guess my desire to move back there is a wish for simpler times. However, I would lose friendships here, and have to re-kindle new ones there.
I agree with the political climate being a reason to leave, and also the medical field here is behind the rest of the world. Both good reasons to seek to live elsewhere.
If you feel the need to share your other feelings in PM, feel free to message me. However, I do not require it, and you shouldn't feel the need to justify your life decisions to me.
God i am so looking forward to going....I...just....want go home already!
I hate to see you guys go, but if you are feeling the call, then I wish you all the best and I'll help as much as I can.
