My experience with teams vs individuals to work.

I would like to share with you, in this first journal, my point of view about various projects that I participated in during my 3d modeling and animator career. This is more about communication and leadership in the team.
I'll apply anonymity to most of the examples I'll tell. In the end I'll give my conclusions and this maybe can add to your career and projects.
The first of many teams I participated in this career was led by a friend of the Google+. Team meetings were held in the hangout.
In these meetings we have conversations about what each team member has done throughout their careers. Soon after, the team listened to what the leader had to say about his project.
The team believed in the potential of the first project and the leader had everyone within the pipeline and planning by Trello. It was all inspiring, encouraging and positive.
Some time later, the leader informed us of some problems with the project, until he decided to pause to create a new short animation. Things like that have happened in two more projects.
In the next new idea the leader had, I unfortunately had to reject it because I was working on a personal project while the third was paused.
I can say it was a great team, but it was never down to earth.
This next team is the most pathetic I've ever worked. Many of the members did not have the minimum experience to model or animate in 3D and there was a lot of focus deviation in meetings.
I had to do my best with animation for this game development team. I made, corrected, redone and chewed the animations.
All this so that it is working properly on their game engine. But it always went wrong, and I wonder if it was a problem with the code.
The worst is that always comes nasty member to disrespect with others. The leader believed that he will always be able to manipulate people with such fawning. With me that doesn't work.
After all, I don't regret deleting my Discord account. I've lost a lot of my time on these voice platforms.
At a time when I was fond of making things up in RPG Maker, I met this old friend, and we were chatting on MSN Messenger about RPG Maker contents.
Nowadays, where I no longer use RPG Maker, he introduced me to his RPG Maker project and asked me to make 3D toon-shaded pixel-art animation. I even did other extra renderings for his project
All renderings of these animations are not available in my galleries.
The team he made has no team meetings, he simply contacts each member through any communication app. It was great to work and be the part of the team, everything was completed as my friend requested.
This was a freelance job, quite simple to do, but it would take some technique and patience to perform.
The project leader and marketing manager saw one of my tutorials and sent me a contact e-mail. He asked me to render a blueprint of the 3D model for a bio-technological product. (whoa!)
I accepted to participate! The work became difficult because of the complexity of the model. Renderings take a long time to process Blender 2.79 Freestyles. Even so, I felt determined and committed to doing everything to solve the stroke problems.
Finally, work delivered and still with extra editions that I made to the client.
I have participated in more projects besides the ones I mentioned earlier, both with team meetings and with individual conversations with the project leader. The results were the same: incomplete in many meeting teams and always finished in freelancers.
To be clear, I'm not going to push an accurate conclusion or a "genius discovery", that would even be a conclusion bias. There are certain types of projects where this does not apply.
I'm leaving here an impression I had about this career experience.
This is where the leader will always want to talk to everyone.
The first problem I see with a team of many meetings is the leader's biggest intention of making a "fabulous" project. The leader feels safe with the great expectation when he is with a team in charge.
By trying to make project happens, the leader sometimes tries to copy what big companies do: meetings, routines, project management, standards, a lot of organization and if possible, reports.
Another problem is when a leader thinks about team socialization, wanting you to be part of a "wonderful family". Bullshit! Not everyone wants it! You'll have members who just want to work on what they like to do.
Know that this is not arrogance or ignorance, but it means that the leader has a very high confidence but low experience to manage a team.
There is nothing riskier for a dream than building a team overnight to make some "fabulous" project. Gradually build leadership experience and respect for each member's individuality. And most importantly, learn from the most experienced rather than imitating them.
This is where the leader will want to talk to each participant.
When the leader knows what he chooses and knows how to respect each participant, he does not seek to push you into his family, he simply seeks to talk. This creates a greater connection between leader and participant.
No matter which means of communication to use, be it email, personal network message, telephone, or even in person, the conversation between leader and participant is at the same level, very clear and well focused on the project.
The low frequency of communication conveys trust in both parties. The respect for individual values is greater, which guarantees more freedom. The accompaniment is very clear when we work like this.
Best of all, the leader can understand the participant's values and limits very well.
I'm currently cautious on any request to participate in a project.
If there is something that forces me to stay on a family team and forces me to attend meetings and conferences, I'm more likely to not accept.
If there are individual orders, as if it were a conversation between seller and customer, I am very likely to accept.
I can keep or change this idea, but that's what I learned a lot from these career experiences.

Contacts with team meetings
Team "Hangouts"
The first of many teams I participated in this career was led by a friend of the Google+. Team meetings were held in the hangout.

I can say it was a great team, but it was never down to earth.
Team "Discord"
This next team is the most pathetic I've ever worked. Many of the members did not have the minimum experience to model or animate in 3D and there was a lot of focus deviation in meetings.
I had to do my best with animation for this game development team. I made, corrected, redone and chewed the animations.

Contacts with individuals requests, or freelancing
Client and friend from team "RPG"
At a time when I was fond of making things up in RPG Maker, I met this old friend, and we were chatting on MSN Messenger about RPG Maker contents.
Nowadays, where I no longer use RPG Maker, he introduced me to his RPG Maker project and asked me to make 3D toon-shaded pixel-art animation. I even did other extra renderings for his project

British client from team "Science"
This was a freelance job, quite simple to do, but it would take some technique and patience to perform.
The project leader and marketing manager saw one of my tutorials and sent me a contact e-mail. He asked me to render a blueprint of the 3D model for a bio-technological product. (whoa!)
