Is there any simple way to add (mp4) video here? I'm no longer going to bother with flash. Anyway, if someone is interested there is new "fur done" turntable video of mrs Brisby at Inkbunny.
Not directly, I don't think. I've seen folks post screen caps and link to third part video hosting in the submission description, but I don't believe FA supports video files.
No problem. I think the closest FA comes to supporting video is Flash, for what it's worth. This site seems to be about a decade behind on stuff like that, ha.
Yeah been using flash here earlier but it won't be supported for long anyway so not going to continue with it. Yep perhaps they should update their upload system "slightly"
About Flash, i asked about it and the admin said, "We're currently investigating some Flash alternatives to preserve our archive. The leading contender is a platform called Ripple, something Newgrounds themselves is utilizing. We've got a long term plan to protect our content history, so fret not!"
So i guess they do know about it. We'll see if anyone actually does it though.
Alright thanks for the information. Well hopefully they will make uploading videos a possibility instead of just making old flash stuff somehow compatible with modern stuff. :)
Why FA hasn't updated their code to support .webm or .mp4 is a mystery to me.
I know of no other video codecs they support other than Flash and, like you said, it's getting difficult to find any modern software that will support / create Flash at all. ( Current versions of Adobe CC won't do it at all )
Like minoan said, what I've seen from others are a still from the video posted here with links in the description to other hosting services that support .mp4 or .webm.
Yeah well, considering that not much has happened here in last 10 years it isn't that big wonder really. I think I read somewhere that linking to IB etc was not allowed but perhaps it was just if the video had cub content or something.
