Cold, Wet, Naked and Screaming Day!

Wow, it has been a HOT minute since I wrote one of these and I'd like to restart the tradition.

Quite a lot has happened since the last time I posted. After a successful 3 three years of teaching at Iowa State University, I decided it was time to continue my academic career. I was super fortunate to receive 3 acceptance offers the year I applied and have been working on a PhD in Medieval and Renaissance Studies for the last 2 years. My committee has been incredibly supportive and I will start my mid-degree exams/"comps" soon. I have officially presented at a few academic conferences across the country and will be writing my thesis on childhood in the Renaissance, particularly the transition from boyhood to manhood. In addition to teaching classes to help pay for my degree, I am also a part of the Writing Center staff which engages in one-on-one consultations with visiting writers to see where their work can go next.

This has, of course, been the major reason why the writing well has gone dry here. HOWEVER, I have been working on a comic project with  literaturabdsm called "The Lion's Den." I do still lurk about FA and try to leave comments when I can. I see all of your comments/watches/faves, though, and appreciate them!

My boyfriend  TigerMonkXav graduated and we officially moved in together a little over a year ago and I am grateful to finally have the shnepps here with me <3

I have also been able to get back into tabletop roleplaying again after an extended hiatus following my move to Iowa. Even more recently I've started "GMing" a game of BESM (Big Eyes, Small Mouth) 3rd Edition which has been going well so far. On top of that I also got the opportunity to participate in the beta testing for BESM 4e and am excited to see one of my favorite systems in existence get life again after 12 years!

Those are some of the major events that have happened recently and, again, I hope to start this up again more consistently!
