more Puck stuff (written hastily, excuse any bad grammar)

summoned into the world to help with various things, but eventually people got lazy and didn't even banish them, meaning pucks were now on the earth and able to reproduce there
this happened around the 15th century , so in the woods and other parts of the world Pucks could now occasionally be seen by travelers
at first people were scared of them and thought of them as foul demons or even punished souls, yet a human philosopher whose name has been lost to history eventually managed to actually speak to one and learn some about them
when hearing his story in the town square he wanted to give the Puck he had met a false name as to not make them sound intimidating; with a quick mind he called the Puck "Robin Goodfellow"
now people saw Pucks as their equals but vowed to keep their true appearance a secret by depicting them in many false ways through art, so that people could hear their story but not realize that the demons in the woods were actually the Pucks of folklore
of course some still viewed the Pucks as evil and some wrote them as villains or mischief causers to deliberately deface them
but more often than not there would be Pucks who would live in the forest outside of a village and, in return for a villager's promise to do good, they would take care of their house while the villager was gone
sometimes the villagers would actually write about the Pucks being evil at the request of some since it could potentially scare off those who even thought of hunting a Puck, making them think that if they were to try and find them they would be punished, and also gave some of the more chaotic Pucks the chance to make a name for themselves
so you have two differing tales, the kind Puck who would help you, and the Puck who would do evil if you didn't treat them correctly
Northerners tended to try and inspire the first tale in others, while Southerners wanted the latter to be told
