For the past few weeks I've been staying in a hotel in another city for work during the week, and only return home for the weekends. Everytime I return from being away for a few days, I am greeted by bad news.
3 weeks ago, I arrived home to find out my aunt was in the hospital for some pretty serious problems. She's been released now, but for a few weeks, things were not so promising.
2 weeks ago I got home to the news I'd be working out of town the following week, thereby missing Halloween. My favourite holiday and I'd have to miss it because of work. And that was ontop of the continuing situation concerning my aunt (she was released from hospital the day before Halloween though).
Last Friday when I got home, I found out that my basement flooded and I spent the entirety of the weekend fixing a punp, cleaning out the stagnant water and removing drywall that was damaged.
Today when I got home, I found out my car died. Well, not the whoel car, just the brakes. Brakes are kinda important though, and I've been trying to save up money to get a new car. I don't have enough for that, so it seems I'll have to pay to fix this junker which will delay the purchase of a decent reliable car.
I've got one more week working in another city and staying in a hotel. I am afraid of what will happen next Friday...
