RANTING WARNING: CHARACTERS

Hey long time no see everyone! Just wanting to take a minute to express a frustration I’ve had for awhile. And maybe someone else has had the same issue maybe?
Has anyone else gone to someone excited about an idea for a character and the other person completely shits on it? It’s really discouraging when you have a fun idea to pair up two characters and you go to tell someone who enjoys making stories as much as you do and than they fucking shit on it cause they don’t want the character to be paired up with another or they hate the species or anything whatever the reason. I’ve had this issue before and I’ve said fuck them, and made one of my favorite characters I can ever imagine (Nicole). I knew it wasn’t the first time I’d run into this, and I’ve ignored it, and gone on with my life and made the character, without any sense of consequence. But losing friends over dumb shit, like not liking the character idea cause of the species or colors or sex or gender is childish. Anyone else have that problem or should I just move on like I have?
TLDR: lost friends and or burned bridges because I was excited for pairing up two female characters, wanted an athletic girl character, and have been concepting trans, and two gay male husband characters. Anyone else have that problem where people bail or say fuck you cause they don’t like it?

It's rather ridiculous that people do this but it happens. I find it a form of bullying really, you do what makes you happy and refuse to let a bully or anyone else try to rule over you. If a so called friend does that to you it shows they were never really a friend to begin with.
Its dumb but what can you do? Not worth the friendship if that's all it takes to lose someone over. 4-5 years down the drain~ you'd think the time invested would mean something.
There's thousands, perhaps millions of furries out there by now. Surely you can find someone that embraces said idea if person X doesn't!
I’m sure they’re are kid people with similar interests, even for the sake of being original, these past experiences are more just making me more of a quiet person here. Nothing wrong with that but it frustrating sometimes
Maybe it happened but I didn't really notice it, "can we do XXX", "Oh, sorry, my char doesn't do that", "Ok, that's fine, I'll poke you if I have a different idea then" and that's all
But I understand the frustration
