My thoughts on 8th Gen +Gallery Update

Okay so I (extensively) wrote this journal once and lost it so Imma speedrun this
Long story short, I got beef with Game Freak.
Pokémon has progressively become more rushed, soulless and corporate since XY
For the first time in my life, I'll be skipping a core series game release.
For those who aren't aware,
there has been quite the amount of drama surrounding these releases.
I still love Pokémon from the bottom of my heart.
It might seem useless to some, but I don't want to contribute to what I deem to be a product of declining quality.
All of that to say:
It's Pokémon, it's going to sell no matter what. However, I won't give them the right to my money with nostalgia and mediocrity alone.
Hopefully, y'all are not too disappointed by this but hey.
I do feel bad for the passionate developers at Game Freak but they aren’t immune to criticism.
I hope everyone who does get the game will have a great time.
I might hop in the time the 3rd version comes out.

Still working on coloring Inktober commissions, these will take a while.
I've been getting increasing inquiries for my art so I'll try opening them as soon as possible
My original species has gotten a lot of attention and questions thrown their way which warms my heart so much.
I've been making plans to renovate my private server and potentially make it a bit more inclusive to allow idea sharing and discussion as they are still in conceptualization. ^^
As for Patreon, we've got into a decent financial safety thanks to you all.
Now you get nearly everything for just 1$ a month.
After I'm done clearing my queue, I shall introduce new rewards like daily Sketches for Patrons potentially.

Disgusted by Game Freak which kept spewing lies after lies to justify the unjustifiable and cut corners at every possible turn despite handling the biggest entertainment franchise in the world.
Disgusted by the increasingly corrupted and thoughtless video game press that's eating out of the publishers' hands and giving away meaningless praises like candies because of a brand slapped on a box.
Disgusted by the fanboys who proudly wear their abysmal standards like a badge of honor and won't even stop at outright lying to 'protect' the games.
Disgusted by the #ThankYouGameFreak and the people spreading it like Game Freak is their childhood friend and Pokémon a gift they bestow on the Earth from the kindness of their heart when it's really just a company like any other coldly selling a product to make money.
Disgusted by the fact that it'll still sell dozen of millions of copies despite the awful, awful quality of the game just because it's Pokémon ; potentially burning out consumers and compromising the future of a series I used to love (and still do) with their short-sighted greed.
I'm just a bit sad that I won't see your style applied to Galar designs, since some of them are really great, but I completely respect you and your decision for taking such a firm stance on the matter. And if you're looking for inspiration for your sketches, I'll recommand you look at the slugcat from Rain World - it's a little known species, but it's adorable and just the right amount of goopy~
It goes without saying that the intense hate and even threats they've received are miles over the line, but to say they're entirely safe from criticism just cause 'They're Gamefreak' or 'you're gonna buy it anyway' and the timeless one of 'the next one will be better' has grown old. I really hope the series improves.
