Mhmhm, the most I do on my channel is make videos of me playing a bit of music on my instruments or videos of my gramophones playing music. This has me concerned as well if I should just abandon ship on YouTube or not.

Well if the content is safe for kids you can just mark those videos as for kids and be safe. Just know you might "taint" your channel this way because youtube might just mark it all as "For kids" content removing just about every feature on offer.
Plus since it won't run targeted ads your channel visibility (it's not as profitable for youtube to care suggesting) and income will take a massive hit.

Or you could mark your channel as 18+, that way kids won't be able to see the channel at all and you should be safe. But your visibility and income will still take a massive hit because adult channels are generally hidden by youtube.

The safest route would be somehow being not kid friendly while also NOT being attractive to children AND not marked 18+.
And good luck solving that conundrum.

Well.. I have only 106 subscribers, my videos almost never break 100 views, and never really get any likes/dislikes, i'm not monetized either because I don't want to be and because the most i'm doing is just documenting stuff I do or whatever, so...
