SYNCROMONSTER
Haven't been here for a while. Let me explain why:(Long Incoming Journal Part II)|Restructuring Portfolio|Conventions|Animation/Projects|Patreon|Twitch/Youtube|Merchandise|Vlog(2020?)|Restructuring Portfolio|
So I moved to Florida back in 2017 and it's been wild ever since. Found out that I'm not too fond of the state, but living with my BF and meeting new people have been making it worth while for me. I could do without the humidity tbh. Up until now I guess I never really had a true artistic direction in mind like I do now. I've struggled with finding joy in my art (I still do but I power through it now and some days are better than others) and I felt like quitting it altogether a few times but I kept going and I think I finally got in the swing of things. I'm rebuilding my portfolio and restructuring myself as an artist. I'm in the process of finding my center and I think I'm on the right track. 2020 and beyond I want to look into animation and entertainment art jobs and I'll be focusing this upcoming year on this.
Conventions
Conventions have always been tricky for me since whenever I go, I see other artist and freelancers selling their merch and I've always wanted to try it but i've been so scared to take the next step. Recently I've been talking to a few friends who gave me some pointers on how to go about it. I've been slowly baby stepping into the idea of having my own merch store. At the past few cons I've attended, my roommates and I would host a pizza party and give away merch as a way of saying "Thank You for Attending" type of deal. They're all had a good turnout so far and it fills my heart whenever I get complimented on something I designed. I plan to try Artist Alley first to officially test the water and when I feel up for it, then I'll try the Dealer's Den. In 2020 I will also *attempt* to attend CTN and OIAF.
Animation/Projects
This part still hasn't changed since my last post. I've been working on restructuring myself as an artist and I didn't have time to really work on animation. That all changed this year since I've been slowly dabbling back into it. My confidence in my abilities as an animator slowly comes back to me in small dosages. I've been posting some on Twitter and now on Patreon so be on the lookout for that.
Patreon
This is something i've been wanting to do for a long while. Since i'm a full time freelance animator, I feel that having a Patreon would really help not only my artistic growth but it will help fund zines, merch, new equipment, etc. that I would need/create. I've been posting on it a lot more as of recent and I have a couple of comics, zines, and other cool stuff in the works that I hope you guys will like. Here's a link to my Patreon. https://www.patreon.com/syncrotrace
Twitch/Youtube
I finally bit the bullet and now I co-run both a Twitch and a Youtube page with my older bro, KvPhoton. This is something I've always wanted to do for a long time and now that i'm finally doing it, it has reinvigorated my love for entertainment arts. Currently we're streaming Pokemon Shield, Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, and much more on Twitch, then migrating it to Youtube. I create all of the graphics and thumbnails for the streams and bi weekly uploads. Links to both channels will be posted here.

Merchandise
I do have some merchandise in the works and they will be patreon exclusive for those who support my artistic vision. If you want your hands on some, check out my Patreon and join the club. I have some cool stickers, buttons, enamel pins, wristbands, zines, etc. in the works and I can't wait for you guys to get your hands on them. I'm very proud of my work and seeing other people enjoying them makes me so incredibly happy.
Vlog(2020?)
Still thinking about doing this. I want to archive my artistic journey and I figured this is a good way to do it. I'm kinda getting the hang of running a youtube channel and I figured once I get comfortable being around a camera for long periods of time I'll maybe upload art vlogs/hauls type of videos. Of course if I do this then my endeavors would have to be funded by my Patrons.
Tl;dr
This is where i've been as of recently. I've been keeping better care of myself even though I do slip up which is what I have to work on still. I have a wonderful support system whom I honestly wouldn't have gotten this far mentally without them. To all of the people I talk to on a regular basis, you guys rock. (For new people reading this, don't be afraid to start a conversation with me. I don't bite.) I'm pretty optimistic about my future and where my career will lead me. I just have to be patient and go with the flow. With Coffee/Monster in hand of course.
