THIS DECADE IN REVIEW.

Hoooly shit.
Hard to believe but this decade started off with high school for me. Getting into Minecraft a lot, and FIRST robotics. 2011 saw me get involved with an amazing online subculture full of amazing art and people. Graduation in the Class of 2012. And moving to Florida, which was a nightmare. Lots of family drama and personal growth and adventure. If I recall correctly in 2014 I moved back to Wisconsin in mid January and I was never so happy to feel the bite of winter. Dead end jobs and time spent with friends filed that year. 2015 was dramatic for everyone, and was without a doubt the year the world had truly gone mad, and a lot of very strange things happened. 2016 was a year of unexpected things, and a continuation of 2015s madness with renewed vigor. It didn’t stop in 2017, but some odd things started to change, with people slowly starting to reflect on the past while working towards the future. 2018 was a roller coaster of last chances, misfortunes, and tragedies, and 2019 has been an uphill struggling rat race in desperation for a better tomorrow.
Along the way we’ve seen incredible technological advances- things like reliable voice activated computers are now commonplace, virtual reality technology is a mainstream form of entertainment, robotics have advanced in leaps and bounds, and commercial space flights are a real, and not even infrequent thing! We’ve already surpassed the dates of some of the iconic science fiction futures where they expected everything fashion cybernetics and flying cars, to whole space colonies, hovering skateboards, and psychic arcade games.
Tomorrow begins an entirely new decade. Who knows what trials and tribulations, what adventures, what incredible advances in technology it might bring? It’s the future, and it’s now. I for one am ready to dive headlong into a world of science fiction made real. So Excelsior! May the Force be With You! And we don’t need roads where we’re going! Let’s get ready for the incredible future that tomorrow will bring!💫
