if the FA Writers Directory is any indication, there is quite a lot of writing going on. You'll find yourself added to it automatically if you post a story or poem. At last count, it lists over 44,500 writers (though surely they are not all active).

Don't expect a huge reaction to any stories you submit. I posted one of my own some time ago and got just two comments from friends who were already watching me. This is basically an art site after all. Maybe if I'd submitted a more adult-themed story, it would have gotten more attention, but I'm saving those for another project.

Fair enough! More or less what I expected, but hey, maybe I'll go for it sometime ;)
