Calling all dog/animation fans!
Hey guys! While browsing Youtube I've come across a lot of animated dog films that not many people know about. They are mostly short films but there are a few feature length ones as well, and they're from all over the world, from Russia to Japan to the USA. So, if you're a dog fan or just want something new to watch, please check these out sometime! If anyone watches them, please comment and let me know what you think!
THE FILMS:
<b>Junkers come here</b>
This Japanese film is about a little girl and her pet Miniature Schnauzer named Junkers who can talk and has the power to grant three wishes. Besides the talking dog part, the film doesn't have anything magical; no epic journeys or battles. Instead it focuses on the conflics of everyday life for a girl whose parents are getting divorced. The movie has absolutely AMAZING animation- it looks like something Hayao Miazaki would dish out- but the story might be seen as too 'slow' for some because of the 'real life' focus. But don't let that faze you, this is an adorble movie!

<b>There Was Once a Dog</b>
A Ukranian animation that tells the tale of an old dog who gets kicked out of his house for being lazy, and he befriends a wolf in the forest who helps him reclaim his life as a pet. The animation in this short film is very 'cartoony' but unique and definitally eye candy. The characters are hilarious- the old dog is my favorite, because he is too lazy to bark at things, so he just lays on the ground and woofs half heartedly at them. Also, look for the part when the baby of the house is stolen by the Wolf. The mother and sister don't run after it, they just throw back their heads and scream and wail, while continuing to rake the grass. XD It's great.

<b>The Dog Door</b>
A Russian short film about a group of dogs who live in an abandoned ravine and whom are in search of 'The Dog Door', a magical portal that will lead them to happiness.
The animation is realistic and appears to be made using colored pencils or pastels. The character designs are absolutly beautiful. I definitaly got attached to the main character, Noble, whose breed I'm not sure of. A must watch!

<b>The Disscusion</b>
This is just a little snippet from Seseme Street I guess. A great example of character animation- expression and gestures and the like

<b>Wild Dogs</b>
The only dog animation I liked that was 3D! This was someones college project. It's about an African Wild dog who finds a dinosaur skeleton. Problem is, the bones are too big to eat! The character designs are great and the expressions are priceless! Based on the creators website, I think she works for Pixar.

<b>Still Life of Animated Dogs</b>
The beginning of this film has what appears to be like...advertisments and then an intro to the film with some guy talking, but DON'T LET THAT FOOL YOU! This ia an amazing short film! Also, although it seems unimportant, watch the intro tho because it tells a TON about the guy and why he made the movie.
The movie itself was animated by this one guy over the span of his entire life. It's a really deep, moving film about the dogs that shared this guys life over the span of like 50 years. A really super good film that uses paint or colored pencils or the like for the animation. The dogs movements are really realistic as well.

And this one is about a guy who wants to ride in a kangaroos pouch...not a dog movie but still a great animation. You'll never see the end coming! It's also 3D and is like 2 mins or so-
