Bamboo, Snow Leo and X11

I'm willing to draw with GIMP on a MacBook Pro which has a Snow Leo on it, but it doesn't seem to work, maybe the X11 doesn't work really well for this purpose, I'm not sure.
I'm using a Wacom Bamboo and the current X11 framework is XQuartz 2.3.4 (xorg-server 1.4.2 apple45)
Awaiting suggestions.
PS: I didn't have any problem with it before on a normal Macbook, I used the same things.

if drivers weren't an issue, 94% of Snowmeow problems would never be. That's a uh... exact statistic.
Compiling and configuring sucks balls, tho. But it works fine after that.
