So Long and Thanks for all the Fish (Farewell EU)
'Tis an unfortunate day today.
Britain leaves the EU, a decision made on false promises, fake trues and blatant lies. It is a shame it had to come to this. Though hopefully in the future it may return more humble and understanding of what the EU truly means to all of us. Or, maybe, even Scotland and a unified Ireland can return. I am not angry at those that voted to leave nor do I think they are stupid, just some honest people who may have been duped into making a decision that will hurt them rather than those who have pushed this opinion piece through so recklessly and will be the least affected by its effects.
The concept of a United Kingdom is dead, it is time to look to something new and better for all those involved so that everyone may prosper.
This is purely an opinion piece. As comes with free speech, everyone has the equal right to it. What it also means though is you don't have to listen to what I say and I don't have to listen to what you say. If you don't agree with this journal says, that's fine. But any unnecessarily vile comments I don't want to be seen on it will be hidden.

like nearly 4 years and countless rejected deals, what people had innitially voted for was never capable of being delivered, i had hoped that with conservative only winning with 40% vote they'd have compromised out of respect.
but no over half the seats, fuck the majority amirite, i hope the UK dissolves and the component states rejoin the EU, the status of destroying a country is all the current manipulative parliament deserves.

The biggest problem comes now that those that are in control of the UK do not have the best interests for its people in their mind and are looking for a fight where ever they can so as to use it as a reason to explain why the UK isn't doing as well as it could be. Just this week the saber rattling shown by Boris and his compatriots stating they are unwilling to listen to any offers given by the EU with regards to trade paints a bad picture of what’s to come. If they can't be seen to play nice with their nearest neighbours, it doesn't bode well for striking up other sorts of deals with the rest of the world as other countries will see their unwillingness to compromise as more work than it is worth and will walk away, only offering the worst of deals when the UK eventually comes looking desperately for something. Openness to compromise whilst also showing some resistance is needed, not one or the other.
Along with this, I fear there will be a race to the bottom when it comes to workers rights and social protection. With the little resistance left in place now, I can see holiday entitlement, guaranteed sick pay, benefits, standards and so many other things that were once protected by the EU slowly be chipped away at by those in power, pushing us close to how the US is currently. And this is some truly frightful to myself.
Though, this assumes the media telling lies detail is in play.
