DDOS stuff, same as what FA went through. they are also working to upgrade their network end ot handle 10GB vs 1GB thats getting overwhelmed. Been keeping up on their twitter account to keep up to date on whats going on.

The upgrade will be yes. the DDOS attacks flooding their bandwidth for now to make us unable to hit the site, isnt. heh.

Ah! I'm out of the loop, what does DDOS mean?

Means "Distributed Denial Of Service" attack. basically someone gets a hold of a lot of computers with a lot of bandwidth combined and has them all ping/flood data to one server (inkbunny in this case) and overload it to where no real person can reach it. Thats what FA was struggling with lately.

It does. It's wacky that anyone would do that.

Its (to me) more of a hacker flexing their muscles and/or trolling a person or site. Doesn't do any real damage to the computer itself or the files, but it can hurt revenue for sites that rely on folks accessing/using their site.

Still, it's wacky that someone has nothing better to do with their life.

It was up earlier today. It's been under ddos attack for a few days.

According to Google; A distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack is a malicious attempt to disrupt normal traffic of a targeted server, service or network by overwhelming the target or its surrounding infrastructure with a flood of Internet traffic.

Inkbunny I think attempted to try and go back online, but couldn't due to their servers still being effected by DDOS and are currently trying to sort out.

Ahhhhh! That's weird that that's a thing.

It may not actually be an 'attack' per say, but perhaps their servers had become too overloaded with too much data traffic and they need to upgrade them to better handle their data capacity?
