Spyro's Old Flame and my upload schedule

So, when I started writing this story series, I was hoping to be able to update every weekend, if not more often. I did miss my last deadline by one week, and as some of you may already have noticed, it looks like I missed this Sunday's deadline as well. (However, I'm hoping to have the chapter out tomorrow, so when you're reading this, it might already be available - in which case you should hurry over and read it there. And comment too! I live for those comments!).
But anyway, this tells me that it's gonna be hard to keep the chapters at around 8000 words and still stick to an upload every weekend. So my question is what you guys would prefer. I could either keep the chapters at around the same length and commit instead to a bi-weekly schedule, or try to shorten them down a bit but upload more often.

Your series has been lovely so far, and I've found myself checking FA regularly to see if you've uploaded once it's been a while since the last chapter. That might just be because I'm often pretty restless and don't have much to do, but I really enjoy your writing and can't wait to see more :)
