Disease tf idea (suggestions plz)
Alright so I'm starting to get this pen down but I'm still a bit iffy although with spring break might as well start pumping stuff out
Regardless, I had an idea but I'm a bit iffy, so the idea is a Choose the change but the tf factor is from an illness/disease. Now its pretty clear this idea came from COVID-19 and I honestly think of it as a "being bright in a bleak situation" but I am scared it might come off untactful, especially since this scare is entirely real and spreading pretty far. So I want to ask others if they agree or see it as OK since it's just something fun.
regardless, if I do this, I want to pump it fast, especially with the weeks I have off, so for this journal I'm interested in suggestions on what the first change would be. the end results would be a chimera so concepts welcome (such as body parts, color, gender changes, so on).

The issue, however is that the whole thing is in a way inspired by COVID-19/Caronavirus since its currently a pandemic. Now I got the idea as a way to cool down since most people are stressed out, might as well do something fun in the mean time right? However, I am scared that the whole thing is not tactful, as in some people might be insulted since this is in a way making fun of something that is currently a big problem in our real world
So I'm just being safe. If your interested, awesome, I'd love to hear a suggestion for the sequence, however if this is crossing a line, please tell me as the I dont want this to actually be insulting, its just an idea I had that I hope can lift some spirits up
Well, of course, it's sad. And it may even be somewhat offensive to some people (or maybe not to some, but more). But at least some form of uplifting, which is in some ways a good thing. I'm really scared, because in my city there is already 1 case of infection. And the idea for TF: the Virus is a nightmare (or something like that based on a dream). The essence of it is that it turns you either into someone you are afraid of, or into some other creature (the creature it turns you into, based on a dream/nightmare). Or here's another idea: an animal bite can be considered a disease, right? (if, for example, as rabies or poison)

Also, compared to the countless assholes trying to exploit the disease by hocking phony cures or hand sanitizer at inflated prices, a TF story is nothing.
Best way to keep such a thing in better taste would be to take a stab at two groups of people: the aforementioned fraudsters, and the people who refer to every single disease that ever makes the news as a "plague" or "wrath of God" because they're horny for Armageddon.
Maybe what you could do is have your story central around a person or persons who all believe themselves to be afflicted and do not live with anyone else (or at least not with any unaffected humans; if it's just one person living by himself, he'll need a cat or a dog so that all the dialogue won't be internal). They have not tested positive, but have done a self-diagnosis and believe they have it and self-quarantine. They watch, listen to, and/or comment on the news, a lot of which is exaggerated and/or contradictory on account of all the fraudsters and doomsday fanatics insisting on weighing in, until they lose their cable and internet (either because they forgot to pay the bill on top of everything else, or because of a blackout allegedly caused in the chaos and anarchy promised by the doomsdayphiles). Then the TF symptoms start, which were not foreshadowed in any way at all, and they believe they have contracted (and, if applicable, passed on to the rest of the family) a different "disease" altogether.
Then, after the TFs are complete and they've dealt with all the internal conflicts they may have about whether or not they should end their quarantine, they do so and the first people they encounter have also TF'd. And when they get their reception back, all the news is about the confusion over how this happened and what the government is supposed to do now that the population includes millions of formerly human but otherwise perfectly healthy bird people (or whatever they TF'd into instead).
Doomsday cult leader on TV during the quarantine: "THIS IS THE END OF HUMANITY!!!"
Doomsday cult leader on TV at the end of the quarantine: "Well. . . I was sort of correct."
It's. . . Well, considering the concept, it can actually get pretty damn boring if I'm honest. . . But IMO, the payoff at the end makes it worthwhile.
