and it allows research companies to use resources on your computer to "fold" proteins and gain a better understanding of them and possibly find vaccines or even cures to various diseases. I think you know where this is going. Ever since the outbreak of the Corona Virus the total number of "folders" increased exponentially from about 20,000 to almost half a million. The combined work power of all the folding computers is almost greater then the fastest super computer on the planet.
Yes, you can still use your computer while this program is running be it sending an e-mail, posting a journal on FA or even gaming. This program uses the computing power you simply don't normally use.
Yes, your computer fan will ramp up to speeds that will probably be noisy and yes, your computer WILL turn in to a space heater because of the constant use of ALL the available resources. And ya, with your computer running full tilt your power bill WILL go up.
But think about this for a moment. There are already companies using this information to test possible vaccines for the Corona.

But to help my power bill from not exploding too much I was planning on shutting mine down overnight, and it's good to not over work computer components for too long, just ask the amateur crypto miners lol
